The Carrier V series rooftop unit is a new applied rooftop unit designed to meet customers' air conditioning and indoor air quality needs. One of the unique features of the V series is its ability to fit on legacy curbs, in addition to select competitor curbs during replacement or retrofit applications. This is possible due to the standard and compact chassis options offered by the V series. The standard chassis is designed to fit on legacy Carrier 48/50P and 48/50Z curbs with minimal changes, while the compact chassis will fit select competitor curbs.
The V series is available in 27.5 – 35 ton nominal cooling capacity and features a direct drive indoor fan array with electronically commutated motors (ECM). The Carrier SmartVu™ control provides unit operation flexibility and is user-friendly. Setup and commissioning are straightforward with the included 7-inch touchscreen display and easy-to-navigate user interface. SmartVu can operate stand-alone, with Carrier i-Vu® 7.0 web-based interfaces, or with other BACnet building automation systems (BAS).
The V series utilizes Puron® R-410a refrigerant, digital scroll compressors, and variable speed condenser fans to optimize performance. Additionally, the units are available in staged air volume (SAV) or variable air volume (VAV) applications and with multiple pre and final filter options to help improve indoor air quality.
Overall, the Carrier V series rooftop unit is designed to provide customers with a flexible, efficient, and reliable solution for their air conditioning and indoor air quality needs, while also offering easy installation and compatibility with existing curbs.

- Single refrigerant circuit with uneven tandem compressors, liquid line filter driers, and crankcase heaters standard on all models
- Compressor protection includes high pressure switch and low-pressure sensors
- Cabinet made of pre-painted, galvanized steel, which meets ASTM B117 salt spray resistance test
- Condenser-fan motors are totally enclosed
- Reliable Integrated Gas Unit Controller (IGC) provides system evaluation & troubleshooting via on-board LED and redundant main gas valve
Maintenance Features
- Hinged access doors with latches to access maintainable components, such as pre-filters, gas heat, and controls
- Components, such as electronic expansion valves (EXVs) and condenser fans, are accessible through large access panels for service
- SmartVu™ diagnostics include refrigerant pressure sensors and maintenance reminders
- Condensing and suction pressure sensors to monitor the refrigerant circuit
- Fan shutoff interlock on indoor fan access panel to prevent injury to service personnel if the door opens while the fans are running
