Carrier Introduces New Heat Pump Variant of Modular Chiller

Carrier has introduced the new AquaSnap® 30MPQ Water-Source Heat Pump. The compact modular design makes it ideal for easy replacement, retrofit or new construction applications, with the ability to pipe together up to eight heat pumps for increased capacity. The 30MPQ is available in eight model sizes with nominal heating capacities ranging from 283 to 1,100 MBH. The 30MPQ is also available in a multi-unit configuration which can provide nominal heating capacity up to 8,800 MBH. It features SmartVu™ controls and uses R-32, a refrigerant chosen for its environmentally balanced impact, higher energy efficiency, wide availability and ease of use. 

The 30MPQ consists of a state-of-the-art water-cooled scroll chiller and comes in condenserless and water-cooled versions. The modular design and a small footprint that can fit through a standard doorway makes for easy installation, with units able to be moved through or installed in tight spaces. Carrier water-to-water, non-reversing heat pumps provide heated leaving condenser water for useful heating purposes with leaving condenser water temperatures up to 140 F (60 C). Heat pumps are controlled to maintain a leaving condenser hot water setpoint and are used when heating is the priority.
