I bought this furnance, then last summer added AC and a heat pump.then there were many issues. It seems that front range hvac in castle rock colorado are not experienced enough to get the two unit to work together. I had them to my house over 6 times. The Unit Is currently turned off since 17 Feb. It's icing over , using too much electricity, can't be controlled by the thermostat. In the last 3 weeks I have left over 6 texts , calls, emails . 2 days ago I was told to stop calling and they would give me status updates in email. Spent over 10,000 on a unit I can't use and worse is the customer service.
love the 5 stage burner

heat in the house is much more even with the multi stag burners
Faulty design kills gas valves.

When it works, it's great, but so far we have been through 4 or 5 modulating gas valves. This generally means 3\-4 weeks without gas heating while we wait for the part on back order. Once the warranty is over, the annual replacement of the gas valve is going to move my rating from 2 stars to 0.
Awful Reliability

I was talked into going with the top of the line Carrier Infinity system versus an in\-floor heating system. I live in a cold climate, so comfort during the winters is very important. The system has been lackluster. My wife needs a space heater in her office to keep warm during the days. We have had to block off other registers due to high air flow versus other areas. Being the top efficiency unit we had hoped for lower utility bills in the winters. Not the case here when comparing bills with neighbors that have similar sized homes, but lower efficiency furnaces. I know there are a ton of variable s that go into this, but my point is that your money is likely better spent in other areas than this furnace. To top it off, our 6 year old furnace has been nothing but problems this winter. Both the inducer motor and secondary heat exchanger failed leading to large replacement costs. I honestly can't say I will ever turn to Carrier for any future heating or cooling needs.
Unacceptable

I was to have had a 10 year warranty for this furnace which was the warranty at the time of purchase. I found out that it had been registered for 5. I have attempted to have this situation rectified but to no avail. This still needs to be addressed. The furnace was to have had the capacity to blow the air to farther areas of the home and have been more efficient than my old furnace. It has failed on both counts. I should have kept my old furnace and will not buy another Carrier.
