It has been great product without any major issues
Furnace failed to heat after 14 months

Furnace was installed 14 months ago and now it has a recurring issue with the gas valve. Called the provider that did the install and when then contacted Carrier, they said it was a know issue, but cause has not been determined. Two days ago, we got up to a cold house. Saw the 35.1 code on the furnace for gas valve communication failure. Did power off the furnace a couple of times and the furnace started heating again. We did have to pay the service call as the warranty period is only 1 year for labor. Not at all pleased that we pay for diagnosis of a known problem. with no solution. When the service tech pulled the log, he found the error had logged over 80 times this month and another 33 times last month. We purchased Carrier because of the reputation, but perhaps it was a big mistake.

I do have experience in the HVAC field and compared to my other unit this system you barely know it’s on and the heat is so evenly distributed.

1. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Warranty period is 5 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.

This furnace does not comply with SCAQMD Rule 1111 or SJVAPCD Rule 4905, which places a NOx emission limit of 14 ng/J. Therefore, this unit is not eligible to be installed in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) nor the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
