This control panel is not very good or user friendly. I will set the temperature and the system will still kick on. I miss my NEST.
Smaller is good and bad

It replaced an existing Infinity control. Smaller so now there is a unpainted square around the new controller. You should have a trim piece available for existing customers who upgrade.
Better than the old unit.

I would not recommend the Infinity System Controller

We have 2 units on our vacation house and the base controller is not intuitive to use compared to a Nest. The remote access through the app takes way too many steps to change settings and is difficult to actually find what you need to make simple changes. Also, not having a functioning home/away sensing system is annoyingly frustrating. We are going to replace with the latest Nest product now that they can control a multi-stage compressor system.
Thermostat

Filter monitor doesn't work properly. No matter how clogged up it gets the thermostat never shows anything above 20% restriction.

SmartSave occasionally adjusts your thermostat set point or HVAC system up to 4 degrees, while giving you the flexibility to reset your thermostat to your desired comfort level at any point from the thermostat or the Carrier SmartHome app. Reducing energy usage during higher rate, peak demand periods contributes to electricity savings on your utility bill. 4. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Warranty period is 5 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
