I would rate my experience with the Carrier Performance 2-Stage Air Conditioner (26TPA8) as “just OK” so far, which is disappointing given the reputation of the system and the investment involved. I went into this purchase expecting reliability and peace of mind, but that has not been my experience to date. To be fair, many of the issues appear to stem from the installation performed by Oceanside Services rather than the unit itself. However, as a homeowner, that distinction doesn’t change the outcome—I’ve had ongoing concerns and disruptions that have prevented me from feeling confident in the system. When you invest in a system like this, you expect it to work properly from the start and provide consistent comfort without second-guessing its performance. At this point, I do not have the level of trust or peace of mind I expected. This system is supposed to support the comfort of my home and my family, and right now, it hasn’t delivered that confidence. Considering the cost and the advertised dependability, I expected more—both in performance and in the overall experience.

To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Warranty period is 5 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
