To join the program, you need to purchase the Performance™ 19 Heat Pump. Currently, the connected energy system pairs exclusively with this model.
No. You retain absolute control over your thermostat and comfort preferences at all times. The energy system operates automatically in the background.
You will use energy just as you normally do. The system simply stores energy during low-demand periods and uses it for your outdoor heat pump unit when grid demand rises. This creates a smart shift in when your system draws power from the grid.
Traditional ownership warranties do not apply since the battery (connected energy system) remains Carrier-owned. However, the heat pump is covered by warranty. The battery system is continuously monitored by Carrier for performance and service needs and does not require homeowner maintenance. If you experience an issue with the battery system, please contact the dealer that installed the battery system.
No. The system operates automatically—you don’t need to manage the energy system or change how you use your heating and cooling system.
We design our systems prioritizing your safety. The energy unit is certified to rigorous nationally recognized industry standards, including Underwriters Laboratories (UL). It actively monitors temperature and electrical conditions, and it automatically reduces output or shuts down if it detects abnormal activity.
