We have had nothing but trouble with our Carrier air conditioner purchased within a month of our furnace. It stopped preforming 13 months after purchase. Columbia NW, whom installed it, wanted to charge to diagnose it and charge labor to fix it even though it was only a month out of warranty and they installed it on the old furnace that they broke and wasn't working at the time of installation.

My installer was skilled, knowledgeable and the metal work and pipe routing was neat and showed pride of workmanship. About 4 months after install, on the first very cold morning the furnace didn't come on. A knowledgeable technician helped me with some basic troubleshooting over the phone and after resetting the power, the furnace was working again. The problem happened again and a technician came out. He did some testing but couldn't find an issue. On the next occurrence the tech checked the gas inlet valve pressure levels and made an adjustment. On the final visit (4th occurrence) he replaced the gas valve. The problem never returned. The furnace has now gone through 2 winters without any issues. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase.

1. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Warranty period is 5 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
2. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Lifetime heat exchanger parts limited warranty period is 20 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a lifetime heat exchanger parts limited warranty. See warranty certificate for details.
This furnace does not comply with SCAQMD Rule 1111 or SJVAPCD Rule 4905, which places a NOx emission limit of 14 ng/J. Therefore, this unit is not eligible to be installed in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) nor the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
