Good product, BAD installer, lack of support from Carrier Corporate

I live in South Texas and have two units. Had this unit replaced 9 months ago for our upstairs. "Carrier Certified Installer" didn't even measure square footage and likely installed too large of a unit. I learned from a bad experience. Now I have a $14,000 unit that doesn't remove humidity from my house and have to run multiple dehumidifiers upstairs to prevent damage to my home. At this point I would not purchase a Carrier unit for downstairs as even corporate has been pathetic in support. It is cool and quiet, but that quietness is overrun by the sound of dehumidifiers.

Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
