Very Disappointed

Unit stopped cooling within three weeks of installation and had to be repaired. Unit is very noisy, more so than the 20 year old unit that it replaced. It seems to struggle to start and will sometimes start and then turn off within 30 seconds. My thermostat provides run and environmental data and it’s clear from the data and my direct observations that the unit struggles to cool and runs almost constantly, even when temperatures are moderate and thermostat settings are reasonable (Temps low 80’s and setting of 71 degrees), despite the fact that my house enjoys lots of direct shade. I had the unit serviced recently and showed the Carrier Authorized Tech my run data and he stated that he had never seen such data (!). Frankly, my 20 year old Bryant unit performed better and it is extremely disappointing. I stepped up from the Bryant to the Carrier wanting a quality unit and I am shocked at how poorly it performs and do not see the value in opting for the more expensive Carrier unit. I don’t think it will last the warranty period given how much it cycles and runs. The unit is sized properly for the space, so it not a short cycling problem.
