Carrier hvac system regrets!

The app never reads the same as the thermostats, we had a 20 year old unit that used less electricity than the unit/system we bought. Our true up increased over $1200 in the first year we had this unit. I almost wish we did not purchase this system. It is much quieter than our old unit, but the house seems a lot more humid than it did with the prior unit.

love our new carrier variable system. We set the infinity when it was installed and we have not had to change the temperature at all. Keeps the temp consistant and we sleep better. the old system we had was OK but too much of a range when cooling (blankets on, blankets off, all night long) New system worth the extra $$

Great potential, but one big glaring problem.

When electricity goes out, the control unit doesn't reset causing heating system not to work. This is a huge problem when homeowner is away from the house for several days and could result in frozen pipes and significant damage. This needs to be fixed. When I called Carrier they referred me to the company that installed the unit, but the fix needs to come from Carrier. Very concerned and disappointed. To reset the unit the current fix is to turn off the power manually, wait five minutes and turn back on. No problem when at home. Disaster when traveling away from home.

4. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Warranty period is 5 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
