My third Carrier. Each one better than the prior.
Why take 33 days to complete an install?

So why DID it take 33 days to complete a 2 day install? The gas component of our HVAC package came with damaged electronics which had to be replaced, and then the whole unit had to be replaced. When the first Heat Pump arrived with a leak and NO refrigerant - not discovered until it was installed - it was laughable after having to have the gas unit replaced during install. But when the 2nd heat pump arrived with a tiny hole and NO refrigerant, it moved into the category of ridiculously poor quality control! Roscoe Brown repaired that and filled it with the coolant. Then proceeded to install the WRONG thermostat. After days of trying to convince them the unit was not working as it should they finally sent someone out to check it. He ordered a new thermostat. The following week someone came to swap them out. During this 33 days we were without heat for most of it. During cold October nights. We have a small unit upstairs but I have health problems which make getting up there very difficult so I was cold for much of that time. After the new thermostat was placed, I noted that the fan blades were turning when it was below 40…. When the HVAC was supposed to switch to the gas furnace. Roscoe Brown sent a repairman to check…. And he found that the last person hadn’t bothered to connect the thermostat to the outside sensor. Hence, the thermostat was NOT turning on the gas unit! Such INCOMPETENCE! Perhaps Carrier should spend more time training the people installing their units since it makes you look so bad. Of course, getting 3 major components from Carrier that were broken before install looks pretty bad, as well!

It seems OK. I think that the comfort problems I have are due to the thermostat, not the furnace or heat pump.

The company recommended this product because of efficiency and rebates/discounts/ rewards/ tax rebate. I agreed due my previous account needing attn every year. Summer in Florida is very hard on a unit.

The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
