Under Size AC Unit

My home is a brand-new KB Home located in Central Florida, just minutes from the Disney area. The house is approximately 2,385 square feet, yet it was equipped with an undersized HVAC system consisting of a 3-ton outdoor unit and a 3.5-ton indoor air handler. After consulting with HVAC professionals, I was informed that a home of this size and location requires a 5-ton system to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures, especially during Florida’s extreme summer heat. As a result, the current system runs continuously and still struggles to achieve the desired temperature. It is extremely disappointing that a major builder like KB Home would prioritize cost savings and mass production over the comfort and well-being of its homeowners. When purchasing a new construction home, buyers expect systems to be properly sized and designed for the square footage and climate conditions. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. A home should provide comfort, and homeowners should not have to fight to maintain reasonable indoor temperatures in a brand-new house. I expected much better from a company of this size and reputation.

Was a replacement for my horizontal air handler located off the floor near the ceiling in the garage - unit produces excessive exterior condensation - drip pan is always wet - needs better interior insulation
