The Carrier® 38VMH‑1P VRF single‑phase heat pump outdoor unit is designed for light commercial and small multi‑zone applications that require efficient heating and cooling with single‑phase power. Available in 3, 4, and 5‑ton capacities, the system supports connection of up to nine indoor units on a single 5‑ton configuration using a 2‑pipe heat pump design. Inverter‑driven compressor technology enables quiet, efficient operation across a wide ambient range, while compliance with NEC and ETL requirements and compatibility with R‑410A refrigerant support dependable performance and simplified installation.
Features
A 2‑pipe heat pump design allows connection of up to nine indoor units on a 5‑ton system, with connected capacity up to 130%. The system operates reliably across a wide ambient range, supporting cooling from 5°F to 118°F and heating from ‑13°F to 64°F.
Built to comply with NEC and ETL requirements, the 38VMH‑1P features a durable finned tube heat exchanger and compatibility with R‑410A refrigerant. Factory‑provided controls and single‑point electrical connections help streamline installation and commissioning.
