Carrier Transicold Launches Reefer Enhancement and Next-Life Program to Boost Fleet Efficiency and Sustainability
SINGAPORE -
Carrier Transicold has launched the Reefer Enhancement and Next-life (REN) Program, an innovative solution aimed at extending the service life, improving energy efficiency and reducing total operating costs of mid-life PrimeLINE® refrigerated units. The REN Program marks the newest advancement within Carrier’s Transform Line, a portfolio of modernizations and retrofit solutions empowering transport refrigeration customers to meet evolving demands with their existing fleets while maximizing return on investment. Carrier Transicold is part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.
The REN program focuses on PrimeLINE units aged six to 10 years and can extend service life by up to three years. Upgrades include high-efficiency EDGE compressors, optimized coils and refrigerant retrofit kits. Customers can add a subscription to Lynx™ Fleet, Carrier’s advanced telematics solution, which provides further operational benefits and greater visibility into asset health, supports predictive maintenance and enables more efficient fleet management.
Together, these enhancements deliver significant fuel and maintenance savings, improve energy efficiency and support compliance with evolving environmental regulations such as the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS). Customers also gain improved reliability and higher resale value of renewed units.
“As the shipping and maritime industry accelerates its transition to lower carbon operations, companies are seeking solutions that maximize the value of existing assets while minimizing environmental impact,” said Pablo Martinez, Senior Director, Aftermarket and Services, Carrier Climate Solutions Transportation. “Our Reefer Enhancement and Next-life Program enables shipping lines and leasing companies to easily enhance the efficiency, reliability and sustainability of their current fleets. With Carrier Transicold’s extensive installed base of approximately 1 million reefers, we anticipate the REN Program will deliver substantial operational and environmental benefits across the industry.”
By upgrading existing reefer units, customers can reduce lifecycle costs, extend asset value and operate more sustainably – without the need for full equipment replacement.
This initiative underscores Carrier Transicold’s commitment to delivering innovative and practical solutions that help customers achieve their business and sustainability goals.
