Excellent product - but did take us an adjustment period

Excellent furnace. There was an adjustment from the old system of how it would come on an be HOT air blowing hard and you'd feel that immediate warmth (but then sometimes be too hot). I would describe the new system as gentle heat. With this new system, you gently warm up and we also noticed we didn't have static problems this winter like we did prior to this new system \- and no, we do not have a humidifier and we have had a very cold and long winter, so it has to be the new system and "gentle heat".

Would not buy dual system again

After less than three years of having this system installed it has gone out completely. Mother board and parts all need to be replaced. We were told that the parts have to come directly from Carrier and were told it had a 40 DAY LEAD TIME. So a three year old system that goes out cannot be fixed in the middle of winter for over a month. A warranty is only as good if the parts are readily available so your when your system has issues, it can be fixed quickly, which is NOT the case with our system right now. The system has also never achieved the same quality as the single speed 20 year old furnace we replaced with this dual system, "energy efficient" system. We have had the annual maintenance done on the system by professionals every year but the dual speed has never worked correctly in my opinion. It doesn't heat our house very well and doesn't regulate the temperature evenly throughout the house. Again I believe this is due to the dual speed system. Energy efficient and quiet is great, but only if the system works as advertised, and this system has not.

This furnace does not comply with SCAQMD Rule 1111 or SJVAPCD Rule 4905, which places a NOx emission limit of 14 ng/J. Therefore, this unit is not eligible to be installed in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) nor the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
