My Goodman furnace was from 1995, and just had a part replaced. The repairman suggested I replace the furnace, and recommended Carrier brand. Never would I have suspected that a new furnace would be so much noisier than my old, reliable furnace. Once the new one turns on, I have to turn the television off...the furnace noise overwhelms it. I called the company to have this assessed, but he said that in order to reduce the noise effectively, he would need to turn it down so much that the furnace would "struggle to heat the house." Apparently this is a frequent complaint, but no one warns the consumer ahead of time. Now I'm stuck with this noise.

Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.

This furnace does not comply with SCAQMD Rule 1111 or SJVAPCD Rule 4905, which places a NOx emission limit of 14 ng/J. Therefore, this unit is not eligible to be installed in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) nor the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
