Verified PurchasePoor performance and bad ductwork
July 22, 2026
My issues started with the install during construction. There were many long runs of flex duct that were kinking on the turns. I pointed this out but the issue wasn't corrected. We stopped by our house in mid construction and noticed the unit was running with the doors open, windows open and no filter in the unit. I called my builder who called Ty at Secrest. Ty informed him and I that they did the final start up the day before and must have left the unit running when they left. Once we were moved in to the new house we noticed the upstairs was running 3-7 degrees warmer in the cooling mode. I first notified Secrest of this issue on April 22, 2026. They returned my call and said they would send someone to look at the unit. no one came. I made contact by phone or text again on 5/13 & 5/28. On 6/2 2 staff from Secrest arrived and we a agreed I needed more supply and more return on my second floor. They didn't bring anything on this date to correct the problem. They left and stated they would get back with me. Nothing happened and no one got back with me. I then paid for an energy audit on my home on 6/2. The auditor stated the flex duct had kinks and should have metal elbows. I sent a copy to Secrest by email. Nothing was still happening. They would tell me every time on the phone they were coming to fix the issue that week. Then more phone calls on 7/2 & 7/6. Still the same answers we are coming this week. Here we sit today 7/22 and nothing has been done. It is very sad that a Carrier dealer has let this happen with no correction taken.
