Hmm... it broke

Well, the compressor failed in the first summer of use. So not sure how to rate this product. It was covered under warranty, but doesn't inspire confidence in future years.
Install was rough

I was surprised to see the negative reviews. Our unit had a problem leaking water from the furnace unit. It required two service visits and a complete tear down of the new system to solve the problem. I haven't noticed the noise level. I'm happy with the cooling. I am hoping for reduced electricity costs.
Good thing for warranty

1st unit failed and was replaced under warranty. The installation was poorly done and had to be corrected by Southport, but myself and building inspector had to bring conditions to their attention.
Not completely happy

Overall we are pleased with the cooling but very unhappy with the noise level. Our contractor has made two attempts to reduce the noise but I believe it is an issue with the line set and needs a vibration reducer or it has a bad compressor. We selected this unit for its supposed quietness.
New HVAC

I had quite a few issues after installation. The pan kept filling up with water. They had to reduce the fan speed to help the situation. After about six months the unit circuit breaker on the house kept tripping. We had to replace the compressor. Lucking it was just before it started getting really hot as it took a couple of days to get the part and finish the replacement.

Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
