Carrier Transicold Continues Long-Standing Relationship with Timothy Taylor’s with Two New Vector 1550 Units

Timothy Taylor’s brewery has taken delivery of two new temperature-controlled trailers, each configured with a Carrier Transicold Vector® 1550 unit. Continuing a working relationship dating back more than 20 years, the trailers join a 100% Carrier-cooled fleet used to deliver the brewery’s full range of beers to customers across the UK. Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

The powerful Carrier Transicold Vector 1550 units are each mounted to 13.6-metre Lawrence David trailers, replacing older equivalent Carrier products in Timothy Taylor’s mixed commercial vehicle fleet. The new arrivals will operate Monday through Friday from the company’s brewery in Keighley, Yorkshire, which it has called home since 1858.

“Good beer needs to travel well. So, to ensure our beer is delivered to pubs in perfect condition, we rely on Carrier Transicold’s units to keep our casks at cellar temperature, whatever the weather,” said Chris Weatherill, Transport Manager at Timothy Taylor’s. “They keep our beers between 10°C and 12°C, allowing for the correct conditioning that gives our ales their clean and crisp flavour. So, however near or far from the brewery you are, you’re always going to get that taste of Taylor’s.”

Each Vector 1550 features Carrier Transicold’s E-Drive all-electric technology, which removes mechanical transmissions found in belt-driven truck and trailer refrigeration systems. Timothy Taylor’s will use its on-site solar panels to power the new Vector units overnight to maximise sustainability potential and streamline fleet operations.

The brewery continues to use the Carrier Transicold Vector 1550, as it delivers the ideal refrigeration solution for its transportation requirements, providing exceptional pull-down speeds and accurate set-point control. Without Carrier Transicold’s equipment, high external temperatures in the summer can adversely accelerate the second fermentation process, rupturing the casks and ruining the loads, whereas in the winter months the cold can create a chill haze on the beer affecting the clarity of the pint.

“As one of the UK’s most recognisable brands, we’re delighted that Timothy Taylor’s continues to place its trust in Carrier’s technology,” said Mark Ramsden, Key Account Manager, Carrier Transicold UK.

The customer’s new units are also backed by Carrier Transicold’s comprehensive BluEdge fixed-cost full-service maintenance package, which includes annual temperature control testing and certification, full F-Gas regulatory checks and access to the company’s oneCALL™ 24/7 incident management service.

Timothy Taylor’s new assets contribute to Carrier’s Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) goal of helping its customers avoid more than one gigaton of GHG emissions by 2030.
