Alamo came out on top, and the installation experience was proof that we chose right. They showed up on time, texted in advance, covered all the stairs and floors, cleaned up after their job was finished, and completed a 2-system replacement in just half the day. The Alamo Austin Air team did an amazing job installing a brand new inside unit in my home. We had just purchased a new home to find that the AC was broken. While this was disappointing, Jason provided us a quote to help us negotiate with the previous homeowner which ultimately helped us to get a small discount during the home buying purchase. After this, we utilized Alamo Austin Air to help us with the installation & everything was 5 stars.

We purchased/installed a minisplit with Alamo Austin Air in 2020 and an entire HVAC system (to replace 20 plus year old system) with them back in September. They provide top notch service from start to finish and always answer our questions promptly.

I am so glad I got a fifth quote that ended up being Alamo. From beginning to end the process was easy going. Zero high pressure tactics from the salesman made me more interested to follow his recommendations. The office was quick to communicate and schedule in a timely manner. And the installers were such nice guys. Explained what would be done and when, took pictures of places I couldn't see like the attic, warned me about debris coming out the vents so I was prepared and walked me through the set up and maintenance after. Granted, the install took place when the weather outside was pleasant 65 degrees so I can't say how well the system will run. But I can tell you this, Alamo Austin Air was rock solid in their service, professionalism and craftsmanship. And I can bet that the system will be fantastic considering I replaced two 19 year old HVAC units, inside and out plus their gas furnaces, so summer ... bring it on. I dare you!

Chris and the install crew did an awesome job installing our new system. He showed us what we needed to do, maintenance items for us to handle and when. This is the second unit they have installed for us and both experiences were great.

Alamo's owner was very knowledgable and noticed way more little details than other companies. Most companies sent over someone to give a quote but didn't do any measurements that they would send to the install team, so then the install team would show up and maybe things wouldn't fit or something the first person agreed to might not have been communicated. This was not the case with Alamo. Everything was on the invoice so it would be communicated very clearly to me and the install team, including the little things for free, like raising the platform to make it easier to get the filter out, etc. Communication was quick, the install team came on time, did a great job cleaning up, were good communicators. I got quotes from 10 different companies for Carrier and American Standard systems and this quote was the lowest without having to negotiate. Would definitely recommend and work with them again.

After 5 years and two houses, I always have a five star experience with Alamo.

Every interaction we had with Alamo Austin was positive. They were very knowledgeable and took the extra time to not just quote us a new system but look at our existing very OLD ductwork and recommend replacement and redesign. They sent a large team that were very efficient and were able to complete all work in one day (replaced everything outside and in). We had multiple people look at our system and Alamo Austin was the most thorough and we felt confident they knew what they were doing and that things would be done efficiently and correctly which is so important for HVAC systems.

As I'm writing this review I'm sitting under an A/C vent and getting blasted by very cold air while it's 100° outside. This is a big deal because I've never felt this comfortable in my own house. My house was definitely a challenge to work on, here's why: My 1967 Austin home was impossible to cool until Alamo Austin Air stepped in. My husband and I bought this house in 2018 and our inspector confirmed that the 10\-year old HVAC equipment was indeed functioning properly with no mechanical problems and the ducts were clean and intact. However we could never get the house any cooler than 78° even with brand new double\-pane low\-E windows and blown\-in attic insulation. The main problem is that our 55 year old house does not have an actual Return Duct and is utilizing the warm air under the floorboards to cool the house. After suffering and sweating for 4 years we decided to look into replacing our HVAC system. I did get several quotes but they were all basically just swapping out old for new with the exact same specs and keeping the existing return duct, so I wasn't convinced that would help make the house cooler. Then Jason from Alamo Austin Air came by and took the time to actually figure out what the airflow problem was and how to FIX IT and not just band\-aid it. Jason spent almost 2 hours inspecting my house from foundation to roof, evaluating each room, and offering me several options for a solution. There was no sales pressure from Jason, and his quote was honest, very detailed and easy to comprehend. On the day of install I received a call when their team was en route. Within 30 minutes there was a fleet of Alamo Austin Air vans in front of my house and an entire crew immediately jumped into action. It was very impressive to see their teamwork. I would intermittently hover in the background and I'd interject with numerous questions and each team member would kindly answer even though they were intensely working. Shout out to Jason, Chris, Matt, Raul a.k.a Adrian, Eric and Eric's brother. Everyone on the Alamo Austin Air crew was friendly, courteous, professional, respectful of my property and left the workspace cleaner than when they arrived. Alamo Austin Air also has a fantastic front office staff who will do all the paperwork to get you an Austin Energy cash rebate and get you registered for the manufacturer Warranty. I would sum up my experience by saying Alamo Austin Air actually takes the time to evaluate your whole home and if there's a problem they'll really work to fix it and make your living space comfortable.

Fantastic Experience

The owner of Austin Alamo Air was actually our on\-site salesman. He absolutely knew what he was talking about, but more importantly I could tell he knew what he was talking about.The installation crew also knew what they were doing. Those two statements may seem like "duh" statements, but our experience with several other contractors certainly proved otherwise. One of the others probably can't spell 'air conditioner' the second one may have been able to spell the two words but didn't know anything about the systems, while the third one probably knew what he was talking about but didn't want to bring the new installation up to code. What none of these people knew was that I actually know a little bit about HVAC systems, and the construction process, and in many cases can tell BS when I hear it. I was hearing BS from everyone except Austin Alamo Air. Now on to the good stuff. Matt and his installation crew provided me several options, staying within the confines of building codes and the basic laws of physics, and then did their level best to make my choices come to fruition. They were quick, quiet, efficient, and kept the house clean. What more can you ask for?

Jason arrived on time and went straight to work. The project went as Jason had proposed although although he worked from 9:30 in the morning until 6 o'clock that afternoon He still had a few things to do and came back at 7:30 the next morning and within 2 hours had the project finished. I was amazed at how professional and clean the job looked. He outdid every expectation that I had or could have had for the job. This is the 3rd job that Alamo Austin air has completed for me. Each time It has been a very professional job no mess no fuss. Just a job well done! As with each other job I cannot emphasize enough how professional this company is. Jason came to give an estimate and was exceptionally thorough. He checked the circuit breaker and discovered an issue and recommended an electrician check, which confirmed the issue and the electrician corrected it. Jason checked out our furnace and identified installation errors when the current unit was installed. He identified problems with the installation of the duct work and connections to the current furnace. His crew fixed all of the problems with the prior installation and did an excellent installation job. His crew checked air flow at every vent in the house before the installation and after the installation, His checked adjusted flow to some areas and improved air flow in all vents throughout the house. Jason also discovered the venting had never been sealed in the prior two installations. An excellent company.

We are very satisfied with our new Carrier A/C system. It easily cools the entire house at an even temperature (well balanced). Alamo Austin Air's entire installation crew were great. They were on time, placed covers throughout the house to keep it clean, and did a great job of removing the old system and installing the new one in the attic. Jason was great when he came out to give us a bid \- he listened to what we wanted, but he also gave us ideas about what we needed. He suggested some extra items, but was not a pushy salesman, and after considering what he offered we picked his bid in part because of the extras he suggested. He's the only contractor who went up into our attic when making a bid, and his suggestion to replace our ductwork was spot on \- I saw inside what they pulled out, and it was frightening. His bid document was clear and concise, and included links to useful information about the components he suggested. On the day of installation, his crew was also very professional. The team lead Chris was friendly and explained everything they were doing, and immediately responded when I had a question or a request. The crew was also friendly and focused on their job, and respectful of my house \- I've had other contractors track mud in and leave it for me to clean up, but these guys took care to limit messes and cleaned everything up when they were done; if it wasn't for the new HVAC system, you wouldn't know they'd been there!

It's so very hard to spend the amount of money it takes to get a new HVAC system and installed RIGHT! I did a ton of research and landed on Austin Alamo Air. They lived up to their high marks on YELP. Jason's pricing was less than another Carrier dealer I was considering and Jason was doing more work in my attic! Jason is OCD about doing things right so that the customer is satisfied and gets the best result from the HVAC system....something i really appreciate. He's also very quick to respond to any questions, which goes a long way with me. He's a busy guy, but he takes responsiveness very seriously. His business partner Chris Elsberry was present during the install and their crew worked diligently all day. It looks great, the house is cooling better than ever and I'm anxious to get the first bill and see if it changes. We decided on a 2 stage Performance Series HVAC system. I'm loving it so far and 100% satisfied with Jason and his peeps at Alamo Austin Air!!
