Stan's Heating and AC crew have always taken care of my AC and Heat maintenance needs. When my AC finally went out two weeks ago, they gave me an "updated" quote and guidance on which unit to install, given our plans for this property. I was surprised they had the equipment in stock, and were able to remove the old unit and install the new in half a day! Great crew.

The initial installation had issues with incorrect condensation water drainage flow, causing large amount of water to leak into our ceiling. The first service call diagnosed the problem incorrectly, so the water leakage continue and water damage worsen. The second call did solve the issue. The follow up repair of water damage took a long time with many many calls from the customer and complaints. It took the dealer 4-5 months from the installation issue to resolve and repair the water damage.

I never heard from the dealer again; it's been a year. I checked the paperwork. There was no mention of any follow up checks. So, I guess it's up to the customer to call Stan's when a problem comes up. This was a disappointment.

I've done business with Stan's for years and have always received great service.

The top covers are broken on the compressor

The top cover on the compressor is broken in one and missing in the other.

On time

The installers were excellent and finished up ahead of schedule. The disruption was minimal, and they showed up on time (actually ahead of schedule... I've used Stan's for my house since it was built 25 years ago; finally just had to replace the original furnace unit.

Project Manager was very helpful in selecting the appropriate system. The installation crew were hard working and efficient.

We got several quotes for replacing our HVAC system. Stan's project manager was easily the best to work with. We ended up getting a better quality, higher power unit at the same price as others. Stan's installation crew was also top notch!

Process was perfect start to finish. Couldn't be happier or ask for better.

On our twice annual systems inspection our Stans expert noticed that the older of our two systems was getting to the end of its life and should be replaced. After we got the estimate and approved it, they were able to replace the system a couple of days later. Very knowledgeable and friendly team and the system is working great.

Quick, competent, and respectful

We had the people working for Stan's (Strand Brothers at the time) put in new HVAC systems when we bought our house in 2024. Those did so well that we sought out the same people to put in new HVAC systems when we finally needed them 20 years later. They did the upstairs unit first, and we were so pleased with the results of that that we asked them to replace our downstairs unit six months later. Their quality and professionalism are top\-notch!

I have been amazed at how quiet the unit is. Another benefit is that the unit keeps the house at a constant temperature much better than the older unit. This is quality of life benefit as the air flow is gentle and not overwhelming as the temperature does not go from too cool to overly hot and uncomfortable. This gives the heat and cool an opportunity to disperse and not be overly concentrated in the vent area. Should have done this years ago.

They were professional. When others just wanted to replace the HVAC. Stans realized that the ducting was not done properly and corrected that situation.

Kevin did a great job with his proposal and in answering my many questions. Installation went extremely smoothly, and we are very pleased with the system performance so far.

Stan's is is a well\-managed firm that hires and seems to retain excellent staff. They are expensive, but to receive good service from competent, meticulous, and articulate technicians is worth every penny. If they choose to sell Carrier, then we will install Carrier. Now we will see what the future brings.

The crews did a great job of tearing out old ductwork and replacing entire system with a new one. Also love the new box filter so that I don't have to change filters as often.

The two technicians who replaced our 25+ year old HVAC system, did an excellent job. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable. Very prompt and polite. Did an excellent job cleaning up after the installation. Then made sure we understood how to operate the thermostat and left information if we had any questions.

I had a Carrier AC when I bought my house in 2004 and lasted for 19 years. that is why I wanted another Carrier.

We use Stan's exclusively for our HVAC needs because they have earned our trust.

Record\-breaking heat, summer 2023, AC poops out, leaving my Airbnb renters sweating in their beds overnight. Their little children still sleeping, the moms saw sweat running down their little faces. Stan's came to the rescue and quickly did a full HVAC changeout!!!

After a number of bids we called Stan's and they were the only A/C contractor that noticed our system didn't have enough air flow to work effectively. They offered to fix the problem at no extra cost and it works beautifully.

At the peak of one of the most extreme heat waves in the history of our area, our ancient R\-12 system's condenser fan failed. I called Stans among others since one of their employees lives in the neighborhood and parks his wrapped company vehicle outside and thought, why not keep it local? They were able to see us almost immediately, which was fantastic since temperatures inside our house were hovering around 90. The initial technician who came by was just what I was hoping for\- he told me he'd be totally happy to try to help us source a replacement fan for our 26 year old Trane XR1200, but that there was a risk we'd be throwing good money after bad, and that our compressor sounded dicey. There was no hard sell, we just talked about how these things go. I asked how soon he felt they'd be able to put in a replacement system, and since the answer was "almost immediately", I asked them to go ahead. Will Downs stopped by, and it was obvious within a few minutes of speaking to him that I'd be really happy to work with him. I felt the quote would have been totally reasonable even if we hadn't been in an emergency, and they were able to get us an install date just two days later. We loved the guys who did the install, they were super fast (which was great because we were worried about them being up in our attic when it was in the hundreds outside), they really enjoyed each others company and answered all my random questions about how things worked. The new system is working perfectly. I'm going to replace our newer but still pretty old upstairs system in the next year or two and will get another Carrier system from Stan's, no sense fooling around.

Stan's is always a company we can trust. They do good work, are careful and plan ahead. We wouldn't use anyone else.

Stan's and Carrier are the right team (product + service) provider for Austin. You know that Carrier stands for quality. And Stan's makes sure that it's installed right and in a timely manner. My 25\-year\-old unit (also a Carrier) finally gave out on a Saturday night during Austin's recent heat rampage. Stan's helped me get my cool back (and my eventual warmth, too.) Quality Product + Quality Service = Quality Experience... and one happy customer.

Professional experience

Stans did an excellent job installing my Carrier AC system. Unfortunately the 5 Ton 2 stage system that was installed is using 28% more electricity during the day and has run for 1 hour and 26 minute to cool the house down from 80 degrees to 79 degrees. A hard start capacitor was installed due to pulling high amps for the compressor to start. All of this should not be happening on a new AC system. I am working with one of the VPs, Roland, at Stans to get my issues resolved. The support I am getting from Stans is great; the quality of the 5 ton 2 stage Carrier AC is terrible.

The estimator was much more thorough than other quotes I got and they installed the new unit quickly. When it had a warranty issue, they got someone out quickly and fixed it as soon as they were able to get the part. Overall great service.

The sales and installation couldn't have gone better.

Everything went as planned except for unit start\-up. The fan blower was making a lot of noise, so the tech. removed the blower assembly and fixed the problem. Apparently, the air handler was damage in transit. The motor got out of aliment when the air handler was dropped. Once the aliment was fixed, the blower no longer had the noise. The new heat pump system is working great, and am very happy with my purchase.

Jaime and Emanuel did a great job on the install: they were efficient, respectful of property (cleaned up everything), etc. We got 3 bids and felt like Stan's offered us the most 'bang for our buck' without any pressure to upsell or do work we weren't ready to have done. Plus, they were able to install within a few days of our decision to move forward. So far, we are loving our new system. Will definitely continue to use Stan's in the future.

Very professional HVAC company \-\- installation team was especially quick and good. In the middle of the cold weather, they were able to get us up and running with a new system in 48 hours from the first call to a warm house.

We've always had good experiences with Stans but this go round, it took them 3 (very cold) days to work out all of the problems with our brand new, expensive unit.

The process was straight forward and they worked hard to get me the most rebates and discounts.

Not really sure what I'm reviewing here: the manufacturer/unit or the contractor/installer. No problems with the former, as it's a brand new unit. Pleased with the latter, as they were friendly, professional, and efficient.

There was no personal follow up on how things are. My stairs were damaged and secretly tried to be repaired. My attic light was also broken and left that way. There seems to be some noise that concerns me and will follow up in the next day. I will see how they respond.

I had 3 companies come out after our A/C Unit did not work. The Stan's Tech was very helpful in explaining our repair options \& we decided it was time to replace the entire unit. Kevin Borseth did our consulation \& was the most professional of the 3 companies we received bids from. Kevin explained his recommendations \& detailed how our new system would be installed. A Grade "A" experience from top to bottom!

A/C went out in extremely hot weather. Stan's replaced in 2 days with a great price. Couldn't be happier.

One of my two thermostats is not reading the actual temp correctly, but Stan's already has a replacement part on order for us. Fingers crossed.

Extremely quick response: on Thursday, the tech diagnosed a frozen freon unit; on Saturday, the sales manager was at my condo to give me 3 offers for replacement systems and to schedule me for Tuesday installation; by the end of the day Tuesday I had a new, quiet system up and running.

I only give 4 stars for service because when I asked them to complete an estimate, I thought it was handled through my property manager, but I had to follow up about a week later when I hadn't received the estimate.

Stan's did an excellent job on replacing our HVAC system from a old furnace and AC to a new furnace and heat pump. They did quality work and finished in less than a day. They also are certified for the Austin Energy Home Performance plan, which provides a comprehensive upgrade to HVAC, ducting, and insulation. This allows one to substantially reduce both heating and cooling costs.

When our AC conked out in 90+ degree weather, Stan's came through with flying colors: a new AC was installed in less than 48 hours, on a Saturday, no less.

The installers were very polite and kept their work area clean the entire time they were here. The installation was very well done, very professional. I will definitely recommend Stan's to anyone I know that is looking for a new HVAC sys.

Stan's HVAC always does a perfect job and they stand behind their work and materials. They were the original HVAC installer, in 2006, when our house was brand new. Their semi\-annual maintenance, on our HVAC system, is the main reason the original unit lasted so long

I have "vetted" lots of A/C companies and settled on Stan's three years ago. They're the best in Austin, in my eyes.

We've been customers of Stan's for years \- first in Austin and then again when we moved to our current home in the Hill Country.
