The installation took only one day as opposed to the two day expected. The team was very respectful of our home and left no debris behind. Full and understandable instructions were given as to how to operate the unit. Financing was very easy. I will recommend them to anyone needing HVAC work of any type.

For what we paid I am not happy. We now have another service issue with the heat pump. Noisy when ac is on. May be a marginal product or contractor. Either way not happy

Pretty much a nightmare.

The following will address some of the problem I have experienced. The unit would have fit my needs if the hot air came 'straight out ' into the living room and then down the hall. I know the single split ductless units have their limitations, but I sure didn't expect a room about 4 feet from the unit would not get warm. The room I wanted heated is only 10' X 10'. First, is it normal for a single ductless unit to never even come close to the set temperature you have set? If the unit is set to 78 \- I'm lucky to get the room up to 68 in the living room. At nighttime \- all shows what was established during the day \- set 78 \- room 68. The next day the living room has gone down to 66. If nothing was changed, why does it go down...and sometimes by almost 10 degrees. When I first decided nothing was working \- and I decided to fix it, it needed to be moved \- so hot air can go straight into the room and the last three heat outlets would go into the living room. I called Bend Heating and said...if the unit could have at least one of the three hot air outputs going into the hall, it would leave mostly of the unit hot air going into the living room/kitchen. but about 1/3 of the unit would be blowing hot air straight into the bedroom. I have to admit that it would have been very expensive to move the unit 10" to the left to accomplish this. I knew that and tried to be as accommodating as I could. I told the Bend Heating guy \- I don't care if the outside pipes come into the house the run along the inside wall for 10" \- meaning only move the inside unit and adjust the pipes to show inside the house. Of course, I don't know if that would work...but I was ready to start suggestions. I was told the hall would block the air flow \- yet only 10" of the approx 4 feet unit would be in the hall. FYI ... I later decided to look up placing a heat pump in a hall, and some contractors actually suggest it to heat bedrooms at the end of a hall The installation I do think Bend Heating felt the horizontal air louvers would push the warm air to the left and into the room. But the small 1" louvers on the unit only moved the direction of the air about 6" \- this was not enough get the air in the new direction. Fans were suggested. I was told to use fans. The unit is just inches away from where it needs to turn. Using a fast fan to do this causes the air to be cold. BTW \- the unit in the living room is less than one step into the hall and one step into the bed room. I tries a 6" fan and then I tried a small duel muffin variable speed fan. I though changing the speed would retain the heat as it moved into the hall but a slow moving fan doesn't really doesn't move much air. Ceiling The ceiling is like a tray ceiling...it slowly gains height \- making the majority of the ceiling in the living room ceiling about 1 foot higher than than any other room in the house. The normal installation of the heat pump seems to want the unit 6" from the ceiling \- But I don' see how this could not be done \- unless a carpenter was used. When I bought it, I had no idea so many things were required and my old mobile home may just not work. But, I felt the guy who gave the bid, the guy who came to install it should know. They didn't say anything. The high ceilings make the heat coming out of the unit want to go straight up., and the hot air is going up even before it meets the fan. Placement The unit had been positioned in the longer run of the room \- but not evenly \- not in the middle...not anywhere close to the middle. It was installed furthest to the left it could be installed, in the corner, which turn make it go pass the hall.Maybe that was the only place it could be installed..I don't know. The last solution: Their last solution \- June 2019 Bend Heating came out per my request \- I had no idea what their next solution would be. They were gong to make my very old 1975 forced air heater run with a separate thermostat in fan mode only. I told them I didn't think that using the forced air fan would work, due to the costs. The cost of running an old forced air unit's fan with out variable speed (only Turbo!) and runs on 220V \- by my calculation \- would be 4 watts an hour X 24 hr \- for 30 days (one month) would add 2,880 watts a month to my bill. My last Pac Power bill for Oct used 800 watts in the 30 days. It appears, using the forced air fan would triple my bill. But I knew the unit was not going into the rooms, so I let them do it knowing I would only use it when all else failed ================ November 3, 2019 \- I was sick and tired of trying to get the hot air up to the set temp, so I gave up for the day and decided to run the old forced air heater instead. It had been disconnected by Bend Heating when they put in the switch to run the fan only. Couldn't wait til Monday to call Bend Heat...need my forced air heater too Nov 4, 2019 (Mon) I call Bend Heating and left a message with the guy I work with \- I want to understand when Frost protection is turned on...and that they had had disconnect my old forced air heater when the worked on the fan. Background back in April or May 2019 \- when the units were put in, I had asked Bend Heating for the serial numbers so I could fill out the warrant paperwork. They said they had taken care of that and there was no need for me to fill out the papers. Tues or Wed \- I decide to call Carrier to ask about the FP function since Bend Heating had not called be back They asked for my name and such...and could not find me. She then suggested I give her the serial number on each of the units...so at this point I went to each unit and wrote down the number then gave them to her. She stated that the serial number I gave her never had the warranty papers return in\- which if done in the first 90 days would cover much more than if you submitted them after the 90 days.all from Monday...even when he knew they had goofed with turning off my forced air.when I told him...you turned off 'back up heat' Bend Heating told me they took care of the warranty paperwork...but they had not! I'm still very angry about this...so excuse all the misspelling and missing words. (BTW \- The Carrier customer service has addressed this problem with the warranty \- they get 5 stars!)
