After approximately 20 trips to our home to install (and correct the errors from the installation) we seem to have an AC system that works. This is for TWO, top of the line, DC inverter systems. We had one worker that was fired the day of the installation and another that was fired the next day after getting into my toolbox to borrow driver bits, using my truck dolly to remove the old units and then left my drill outside in the grass. The problems kept coming as they had to come back and move the thermostat for one unit, fixed the wiring where one idiot used a 12 ga wire on a 40-amp circuit, drain issues, and the worst was when they failed to install the drain tank back on the condensate pump upstairs in the loft that caused $27,000 worth of water damage to our newly renovated house. The last issue was a filter placed in the air handler unit in the ATTIC. Yep, I always climb into the attic to change a filter..... After all those trips, the unit seems to be working OK but now it is time for the one-year service and when called, they claim that their "insurance company" will not let them set foot back on our property. So, here we sit, TWO new units installed by this company and now we need to find a Carrier approved AC company that will service the units and stand behind the warranty despite the fact they didn't install them. Worst service EVER and the first time I have ever reported an issue like this to ANY company. The owner of Apex needs to go back to customer service school and learn how to treat people that pay their bills, put up with 9 months of excuses and still get shafted by them.

We found Apex Air Conditioning and Refrigeration off of the Carrier website with the understanding they were a certified representative and this would be done correctly. We bought the best system money could buy with the highest efficiency. A SEER 23 the highest efficiency model on the market. We went off Apex recommendation to re\-duct the entire house to get the proper balancing and to ensure cooling to the back master bedroom where air was lacking. The contract was for 2 zones, they installed 1. Contract stated as follows "New Ductwork, remove existing flex duct and duct board, install new flex, mixing boxes, separate ducts into 2 zones that include the master bedroom and kitchen on a zone and the living room and back bedrooms on another zone" There was supposed to be a Carrier rebate of $1,700 that the owner stated we weren't eligible for that Carrier themselves stated we are. He stated it was date of purchase, i called Carrier and they deny his statement stating, it is date of completion. So he lied and probably kept out rebate. There was insulation blowing out of the ducts, and the owner Richard stated this was normal, it is not. They disconnected the freezer in my garage during the week I was away and then plugged it back in, bags of ice were gone, completelly melted away and the door was frozen shut and $3,000 in medication was ruined. We had an agreement when done, I would fly in to inspect on Friday 9/13/24 after the city inspected and signed off. Vence the supervisor sent me a threatening text on 9/12/24 "I'm not trying to scare you but just keeping you informed, payment is due upon completion of the job. At this point a mechanics lien will be put upon your house, as soon as the balance is paid it will be removed." Now, the job wasnt completed as it wasn't signed off by the township at this point and this was a threat to get me to pay prior to my inspection. The inspection was on 9/13/24 and our agreement was I would settle up on Monday 9/16/24. The home is not cooling as well as it did prior and cannot reach desired temps on hot days. Either undersized or too much friction loss in the ducts. I spoke with Richard the owner on the Monday 9/16/24. He refused to work out anything regarding any of the above and offered me a $250 reduction on a $23,000 install. I now have to hire another licensed Carrier rep to complete as well as fight these guys in court for breach of contract.

No issues with dealer, but there is an issues with Carrier. One reason we decided on this upgrade was the ability to set the temperatures on\-line. However, the Carrier app will only work with US registered phones, and will NOT load on to any other phones or tablets. Surely, in this day and age, with the number of non\-US property owners , a company like Carrier could offer an app that worked on any hand\-held device ?

The install was not perfect... and one of the issues was not Apex's fault, ie a defective wall controller out of the box... some were (misalignment of the air handler so the filter couldnt be changed)... but Apex was honest about both issues and quickly corrected them the next day and the system has been running great ever since. They serviced my old system before it was replaced and they are clearly a company you can rely on and who care about their customers. Great communication and prompt support. Thats very important when selecting an AC contractor .

Quick and efficient. A/C unit was diagnosed, ordered and replaced in less than a week. The service was good, I was updated along the process, they kept the work areas clean and left the A/C closet cleaner than before they arrived. Unfortunately, I am missing a few accessory's from my personal tool box. There is really no way to prove when the items went missing, I have no explanation for the missing items. So... lock up your power drill batteries and specialty drill extension bits, save yourself hours of turning your home and garage inside out 3 times looking for the missing items. HOWEVER\~ The missing items pale in comparison to the savings for my monthly budget. Over the last 3 months, the new efficient A/C unit has saved me few hundred dollars. The Carrier unit has definitely made an improvement to the air quality in my home, and I am very satisfied with my purchase.

My AC stopped working. Contacted Apex who I'd used a couple years ago to replace thermostat that had stopped working and had a good experience. Technician came out and diagnosed problem and estimated cost of replacement part. I felt it was more than I wanted to spend on a system that was 14 years old. Decided to replace system with new one. I obtained four estimates from different AC companies including Apex. They weren't the lowest or the highest estimate but I went with them because I felt like they listened to what type of system I wanted and quoted me a reasonable price. The technicians showed up on day scheduled and did an excellent job installing system. I'd definitely use Apex again and recommend their services.

Upgrading from old unit
June 14, 2019
Had to tell the installer to check the vents and to make sure the system was right. A couple weeks after the install the unit is running 16\-20 hours a day. Said it was supposed to be more efficient than the old system but so far runs a lot more. Not very confident in the install as the unit takes a long time to cool the house.

Replaced Carrier Heat Pump and Air Handler

Called APEX certified Carrier service and repair in Davenport for service on my non\-operational Carrier HVAC system. Evaporator leak on 11 year old carrier system was too expensive to repair and decided it was time to replace Carrier Heat Pump and Carrier Air\-Handler. Apex service tech's removed all old equipment and installed all new equipment same day. Staff was very efficient and the entire replacement process was 3 hours from time new equipment arrived to time they left. Nice and cool air conditioning and very quiet. The 10 year warranty on parts was a selling point on Carrier quality. Overall, very happy with APEX services.
