New GasPac installed 1/6/23

Worst experience I have ever had replacing something old that was 'working' but several techs said was at the end of it's life at 15 years old and a danger as the heating element on the gas pac was rusted and posed a life or death risk. The actual install went well but the unit was blowing cool air in Jan and short/frequent/rapid cycling. It took 5.5 weeks of me complaining and several 'trouble shoot' visits then replacement of the stat to an ecobee and even then none of the install team could correct the problem of 6\-10 min on then 6\-10 mon off. Finally a service tech was able to program the stat but it still took a couple of shots. The first two gas bills I got were higher than any I'd ever gotten and I turned the old furnace on in Nov. Despite my constant complaints and bill comparison me and my house were put through the wringer asking what else was on gas/how often I used it and going thru the attic regarding insulation and listening to excuses like cold vents, colder than usual weather when my old unit was NOT presenting any problems. I finally had to flat out ask to be reimbursed for the gas bill because even in the weeks prior to the install my old furnace was off for two days due to the 'scare' tactic of another company and yet that bill was excessive and the unit had only been on for a week. The second full gas bill with the new unit was double anything I had ever paid with the old one (I have an on demand HWH, gas stove and a small gas HWH for the washing machine). Someone needs to retrain the Install team because despite my complaints I was told for 5.5 weeks the unit was working as it should and I knew that was not accurate. I have knots in my stomach awaiting the next gas bill due any day hoping it is less than the last one since the programing of the ecobee stat calmed the unit down. Most expensive nightmare an ole lady on a fixed income could possibly have and I will still have to pay for it for 5 years. I dread the electric bill for A/C as I am in Arizona. The 5 stars for service is due to the fact the contractor did not drop the ball and continued to address my complaints and did reimburse me for the 2nd gas bill for the full month of the new unit. I can only hope at this point that the Carrier quality proves better for the A/C than what I have gone thru thus far with the heating aspect.

We were delayed repeatedly when the dealer ordered the wrong equipment and parts. Much of the installation work was performed by inexperienced trainees who were well\-meaning but lacked essential skills and adequate supervision.

The individuals at D\&J who provide service, whether setting up an appointment, meeting to talk about options, or installing the unit, are professional. The folks are knowledgable about what they do and the installation was completed seamlessly. I did get a couple other bids. Neither one of the other two companies noticed the gas line that was available, but currently not being used. Rick did and included an AC with gas heating as one of the options. Good, solid group of folks. Have no problem recommending them to anyone.

The whole process was seamless and efficient. The price was the best o 4 quotes obtained. Currently the installer is looking into Two issues which may be code violations but I'm sure these issues will be resolved.
