While we’re proud of our long history, we’re always looking ahead—refining home comfort solutions with the expertise of our teams here in the United States.
Our U.S.-based product development center oversees the full design and testing process. The majority of our manufacturing takes place in Indianapolis and Collierville, Tennessee, ensuring quality and consistency every step of the way.
Great products start with great people. Our Indianapolis-based engineers bring passion and innovation to everything they do, developing solutions that make a meaningful impact for homeowners and the environment.
We cultivate an inclusive, collaborative culture that drives engagement, retention, and innovation. From the front line to leadership, our team reflects a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.
Carrier began manufacturing gas furnaces in Indianapolis in 1967. Today, our Indianapolis facility employs more than 1,500 Hoosiers and spans nearly 550,000 square feet—making it one of the largest gas furnace plants in the world, with the capacity to produce up to 5,000 units per day. Our products are supported by a network of more than 92,000 dealers and 200 distributors nationwide.
Supporting the future of HVAC is a top priority. At our Indianapolis Technical Training center, we’ve delivered more than 25,000 hours of hands-on training as well as 32,000 online hours annually —helping equip the nearly 85,000 technicians employed by our dealers with the skills they need to succeed.
From vibration analysis to real-world feedback, our rigorous testing processes ensure every system is built for durability, reliability, and long-term performance.
Carrier Excellence guides every step of our manufacturing and quality control processes. We closely track key performance metrics—including delivery times, safety, product quality, and environmental impact—to ensure we consistently meet the highest standards.
Our company-wide sustainability initiatives have also driven meaningful reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, industrial waste, and water usage—helping us operate more responsibly while delivering reliable products.
In this specialized lab, we study the vibration produced by moving components within heating and cooling systems—such as motors, fan blades, blowers, and compressors. Over time, excessive vibration can lead to wear and component fatigue. By identifying and minimizing these effects through advanced testing and design improvements, we help ensure long-lasting, dependable performance homeowners can trust.
Continuous improvement starts with listening. In our Quality Clinic, we analyze feedback from customers, dealers, and distributors by testing returned components and identifying root causes. For instance, if a coil is reported to have a leak, we submerge it to pinpoint the issue and validate the failure. These insights allow us to refine our designs and deliver better, more reliable solutions.
