1,000,000+ Trees Planted in 2025

Our Commitment

For the air we breathe, for the world we share

Enhancing the lives we live and the world we share starts with the air we breathe. Carrier is collaborating with the Arbor Day Foundation, the world’s largest tree planting charitable organization, through an exciting new initiative.

Carrier commits to plant 5 million trees by 2030

One million trees will be planted each year in high-impact areas around the world. Thank you to our customers and employees for helping us decide where to plant them!

In 2025, Carrier will support strategic tree planting efforts to help restore critical ecosystems around the globe, including the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil, the Cauvery River Basin in India, England’s Community Forests, Kenyan farmland and Mexican Monarch Butterfly habitat.

Our efforts will also support large-scale projects in the U.S., including Hurricane Michael recovery in Florida, watershed restoration throughout the Pacific Northwest and regenerating the longleaf pine ecosystems across Texas.

Why tree planting?

Trees help improve air quality, generate oxygen, cool urban areas by up to 10 °F1, and strengthen the health of our planet through a variety of ecological functions that will provide benefits for our children and our children’s children. Together, we will drive meaningful impact for vulnerable forest ecosystems and communities.

Over their lifespan, it is estimated that 5 million trees could:

Generate enough oxygen for the population of London and New York combined for a day.¹ ²

Capture CO2 equivalent to a half million homes' electricity use in a year.*

Remove pollutants from the air equivalent to those generated by 600K+ gas-powered automobiles in a year.*

In addition to large-scale tree planting in geographies in forests of need, Carrier is dedicated to supporting localized climate resiliency and reducing urban heat impact in locations where Carrier lives, works and operates.

Carrier employee volunteers

Together, we are living our purpose — enhancing the lives we live and the world we share.

Carrier employee volunteers will participate in tree planting activities around the world, doing our part to turn Carrier’s purpose into action.

Plant a tree to save on energy costs

Trees and urban forests play a critical role in community environments as natural cooling systems. Planting trees in strategic areas on your property may help conserve energy and reduce home energy bills, specifically planting shade trees over patios, driveways and air-conditioning units.³ Large deciduous trees planted on the east, west and northwest sides of a house may reduce summer air conditioning costs by up to 35%.³
