Fraikin Poland Selects Carrier Transicold Units for Polish Rental Fleet Investment

WARSAW, Poland -

Fraikin Poland, a leading fleet management and rental provider, has specified Carrier Transicold refrigeration units for more than 75 new temperature-controlled vehicles joining its rental fleet – part of a wider rental fleet investment made this year. Carrier Transicold, which operates in Poland as Carrier Transicold Poland Polska Sp. Z o. o. (Carrier Transicold Poland), is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

As part of the rental fleet investment, Fraikin Poland selected 48 Carrier Transicold Xarios™ 300 units, 21 Viento® units with heating and seven eutectic Vatna® 200H units, adding to Carrier Transicold Poland’s 80 percent representation in Fraikin’s fleet.

“We currently have 626 Carrier Transicold units in our fleet, including Pulsor™, Xarios, Viento, Supra™ and Vector™ units,” said Robert Wojtiuk, contract manager, Fraikin Poland. “Seventy percent of the units are for trucks, 22 percent for vans and 8 percent for semi-trailers, which are on an upward trend."

Fraikin Poland, a part of the Fraikin Group, a European leader of industrial and commercial rental vehicles including trucks, vans, buses, trailers and semi-trailers, is often called upon to provide haulage when it is urgently needed, for example, when customers have to meet an increase in seasonal demand. Customers expect reliable and easy-to-use vehicles that can meet their transportation needs quickly and efficiently.

"We have a very robust portfolio including refrigerated transport, which is very demanding, especially the distribution of pharmaceuticals and seafood,” said Artur Nowicki, managing director, Fraikin Poland. “We have developed our own standards for vehicle equipment, but we also adapt to our customers’ expectations. We are celebrating our 10-year anniversary in Poland and we’ve been with Carrier Transicold Poland from the beginning. They help us maintain our high standards of customer service.”

The Xarios units feature cooling and heating abilities to maintain a temperature within -20 to 30° C, for vehicles with box volumes of 8-40 m3. The units’ ultra slim evaporators increase the available load space, while the advanced electronic controller and brushless fans reduce the chance of vehicle downtime, helping to ensure high reliability and a long product lifetime. Efficient and lightweight Viento units can be mounted on vehicles with body volume up to 28 m3. These versatile units work well in all ambient temperatures for chilled or frozen applications.

The eutectic Vatna units are designed for the distribution of frozen food and ice-cream for volumes from 5 to 23 m3. Operating automatically, these units work using eutectic plates that accumulate cooling capacity when connected to a power source at night and released during daytime operation.

"The majority of our units have a heating function, and some are multi-temperature capable, which closely corresponds to the expectations of our customers," said Janusz Rachwał, commercial director, Fraikin Poland.

All of the refrigeration units selected for light commercial vehicles are ideal for intensive distribution environments with multiple door openings. The units are also quiet, which is a significant advantage in the city as many Fraikin customers operate in highly urbanized areas where noise reduction is important.

To maintain uptime and equipment efficiency, the fleet is serviced by Fraikin Poland technical inspectors located in 180 service points throughout the country. Carrier Transicold supplements this service by providing full access to oneCall™, the 24/7 year-round incident management service, providing breakdown assistance from Carrier Transicold Poland’s extensive service network including 28 locations throughout the country.

"We manage the entire fleet with great care,” said Nowicki. “While we have 180 service points, we also rely on the Carrier Transicold Poland network. When we buy new units, we pay close attention to the quality of service.”
