Carrier Introduces New Touchscreen Displays for the i-Vu® Building Automation System
KENNESAW, Ga. -
To help building operators better manage their heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, Carrier has introduced the next generation of touchscreen displays for the i-Vu® building automation system. The new TruVu™ Equipment Touch (ET) displays provide facility managers and technicians with an intuitive user interface for managing HVAC equipment in buildings. Carrier, a world leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The larger, higher-resolution TruVu ET displays are designed for indoor equipment and panel mounting applications. The display enclosures are IP65 rated, making them dust, water and vibration resistant. They connect to a single i-Vu controller and are available in three sizes:
- TruVu ET 4 display (4.3” screen, 480 x 272, 128 pixels per inch (ppi) resolution);
- TruVu ET 7 display (7” screen, 1024 x 600, 170 ppi resolution);
- TruVu ET 10 display (10.1” screen, 1280 x 800, 149 ppi resolution).
Once connected, the TruVu ET displays will automatically show an i-Vu graphic of the equipment, providing operators with real-time visibility and control of the connected equipment. Operating parameters, trend graphs, schedules, and alarms can be viewed and configured. A pinch-to-zoom feature increases operator visibility of details on the equipment graphic and trend graphs. It also allows equipment graphics to be customized using the ViewBuilder graphics tool. The TruVu ET displays support multiple languages and include multi-level password protection for security.
“Our new TruVu ET displays are another example of how we are making it simple for customers to manage their HVAC equipment onsite,” said Mark Jones, business manager, Carrier Controls. “These displays bring the operational health of the equipment to life so that operators can create a more comfortable environment for building occupants while also enhancing operational efficiencies.”
The TruVu ET displays are compatible with existing i-Vu controllers and Carrier’s soon-to-be released TruVu product line. The Carrier® TruVu product line is the next generation of Carrier controllers, which are slated to begin rolling out beginning later this year.
The TruVu ET displays are available through Carrier sales offices worldwide. For more information, please visit carrier.com.
