Carrier’s partnership with Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport enters its fourth year
LONDON, United Kingdom -
Carrier has confirmed the continuation of its commercial partnership with Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport for the 2026 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season, marking the fourth consecutive year of collaboration between the two organisations. Carrier is a part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.
To celebrate the occasion, Carrier joined Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport at last month’s Team Official Launch Event in Shoreditch, London. Exclusive programme members got a first glimpse of the new cars before the Toyota Corollas and their liveries were revealed to the world alongside the programme partners, drivers and team management.
Following a strong 2025 campaign, the partnership will see Carrier remain a key supporter of the team as it embarks on a refreshed programme featuring new drivers, new cars and expanded engagement activity across the BTCC calendar.
The 2025 season proved to be one of the team’s most competitive to date, with consistent front-running performances and multiple podium finishes throughout the year. The campaign highlighted the strength of the team both on and off track, laying solid foundations for the next stage of development in 2026.
"We are really proud to be continuing our relationship with Carrier, and this partnership is a great example of our work here at Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport,” said Alex Watts, Managing Director of MBP. “The UK-wide customer engagement programme we run with the Carrier team has always been a huge success, but the addition of our internal employee appreciation days and the joined-up approach we take to commercial introductions across our network has made this a great relationship. We look forward to another great year together.”
Led by Sporting Director legend Mark Blundell and Technical Advisor and Race Engineer Craig Porley, Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport will field a new driver line-up for the upcoming season. Three-time BTCC Champion Gordon Shedden joins the team, bringing extensive experience and a proven race-winning pedigree. He will be joined by Árón Taylor-Smith, a multiple BTCC race winner and former Independent Champion, returning to the series with strong potential to challenge at the front of the grid.
The team also bids farewell to Jake Hill, who departs following a highly successful period with Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport that included a BTCC Drivers’ Championship title. Hill leaves with the full support and best wishes of the team and Carrier as he moves on to new opportunities.
In addition to the driver changes, the team will operate an expanded car programme for 2026, running two new Toyota Corolla models. The move strengthens the team’s competitive ambitions and supports greater performance consistency across the season.
Away from the circuit, Carrier has confirmed they will attend six customer days during the season, offering clients and partners exclusive access to the team and paddock environment. Two dedicated Carrier friends and family days will also take place, providing behind-the-scenes experiences for staff and their families.
“This is the fourth year Carrier have joined forces with Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport, and the relationship grows stronger each season,” said Graham Smith, Carrier’s Applied Commercial Director. “We are looking forward to seeing what this year’s changes will bring and are excited to have the opportunity to share this partnership with our customers, clients and colleagues.”
The continued collaboration reflects shared values around performance, teamwork and innovation, with motorsport providing a powerful platform for engagement and brand visibility.
