The CS course is the first in the Controls Expert Training Series. This course will provide a technician the necessary skills to design, install, commission, and troubleshoot Carrier’s i-Vu® Open Comfort System tier products, the i-Vu® Open network, and the i-Vu® Open tools.

The CS course is the first in the Carrier Controls Expert Training series. This course will provide a technician the necessary skills to design, install, commission, and troubleshoot Carrier’s i-Vu® Open Comfort System tier products, the i-Vu® Open network, and the i-Vu® Open tools. This course is exclusive to registered Carrier Controls Expert Offices. Who should attend this training

Carrier Controls Expert technicians and technical employees who are looking to better utilize their skills with i-Vu® Tech Tools 7.0, VVT® Control Systems and VAV Control Systems.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, each student should be able to:

  • Install and use the i-Vu® Tech Tool suite proficiently
  • Install, wire and configure a VVT® System
  • Install, wire and configure a VAV System

Training Methods Used

This course uses a combination of classroom lecture, demonstrations using the controls simulators, computer lab and workshops to present the material. Student’s achievement of the learning objectives is determined by successful completion of the workshops, and final written exam. Workshops are instructor guided exercises using the procedures taught in the lectures.

Completion requirements

To receive a certificate for this course student must be present for the entire course, complete all workshops and receive a grade of 70% on graded final.

Prerequisite requirements

None.

Suggested background

An introductory knowledge of commercial air conditioning and heating systems, commercial building design and design process is desirable. A working knowledge of controls and control theory is also required.

Materials to bring

Student must have an account in HVACpartners prior to the class start date. Please contact your local Carrier Sales Office to create an account.

What you will receive

Students in this course receive a course workbook.

Appropriate dress for this class

This class is held in a class and business casual dress is appropriate. Any safety equipment required for these lab tours will be furnished.

Class hours

Class starts at 8 AM Monday and runs from 8 AM till 5 PM each day including Friday if class is scheduled at the end of a week. Travel arrangements should be made accordingly.

All courses are taught at BAS University (Kennesaw, GA), unless otherwise noted.  Location and lodging information will be provided at the time of registration.
