There are many different skill sets in the life of a field technician — engineering, IT infrastructure, technical support, and computer programming, to name a few. This Gold training will prepare field technicians and engineers to confidently install, commission, troubleshoot, and edit a graphic utilizing ViewBuilder. This course is designed to develop an efficient field technician and engineer for a job site right away.
The Gold ViewBuilder Advanced course has been developed for Carrier Field Office field technicians/engineers who are new to the Carrier i-Vu® Tools hardware and software.

The Gold ViewBuilder Advanced course has been developed for Carrier Field Office field technicians/engineers who are new to the Carrier i-Vu® Tools hardware and software.

After successfully completing this course, you will have a working knowledge of the ViewBuilder application and its option as well as editing equipment graphics and floor plan graphics.
Training Methods Used
Traditional Classroom: A live instructor will lead up to 12 students (course dependent) in hands-on exercises with minimal lecture in between. Using the situated learning techniques of the Kirkpatrick Model, this methodology fosters a collaborative learning environment where students are positioned to maximize knowledge retention. This course is a 2-day event.
Video-Led eLearning: Videos will lead students with the same content as the Traditional classroom. The student will have either remote access to a training station or the use of their own hardware to complete hands-on tasks, giving them a virtual classroom experience from many miles away. During the timeframe of the course the student will have access to Instructor forum where they will be able to ask questions and communicate with an instructor. This course is hosted in a 9-day timeframe. Students must have the following access and hardware requirements:
- Internet access with Google Chrome
- Administrative rights on your PC to install any necessary software for class
- Mouse (tablet touch screen or PC touchpad not recommended)
- i-Vu® Tech Tools (part number: USB-TKIT) version 9.0
- Equipment Graphics: Make a Single .view File for Identical .equipment Files • Make a Single .view File for different .equipment Files • Make a ViewBuilder Symbol • Place the Background Ductwork and Arrows • Program Smaller Components • Find/Replace • Show/Hide Expressions • Math Expressions • Variable Color Expression • Associating an On-Off-Auto Symbol • Distribute & Align Components • Links to Metering Equipment • Trend Displays & Current Time • External Links to a File • Enable/Disable Conditional Expressions • Adding an Image List • Notes Display for Graphics
