Carrier Introduces Expanded Lineup of VRF Products
KENNESAW, Ga. -
To meet a wide array of building needs and provide customers greater flexibility in new construction and renovation projects, the Carrier variable refrigerant flow (VRF) division is pleased to announce its vastly expanded lineup of VRF solutions. As part of the expanded offerings, both three-pipe and two-pipe heat recovery and heat pump systems will be available for its commercial customers. Carrier, a world leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The new units are a combination of Toshiba Carrier Corporation (TCC) and Carrier products that will provide Carrier customers with the largest VRF product portfolio in the commercial heating and cooling industry. TCC was formed in 1999, when Toshiba and Carrier joined forces to bring leading Japanese technology to markets worldwide.
“This announcement is indicative of the intense focus shared by Carrier and Toshiba Carrier on delivering VRF products and services to meet this rapidly growing segment,” said Meredith Emmerich, managing director, Ductless & VRF, Carrier.
“We recognize building configurations are evolving with the public’s need for more sustainable buildings. Our new portfolio of VRF products reflects this growing demand and is part of our larger investment to grow our ductless and VRF solutions.”
The Toshiba Carrier VRF lineup will include greater tonnage capability, increased efficiency and improved heating performance operating down to -13 degrees Fahrenheit. The outdoor heat pump three-pipe heat recovery system unit will grow capability to 38 tons. The introduction of two new modules in 12- and 14-ton sizes is central to the tonnage increase.
The introduction of the Carrier VRF two-pipe heat recovery system will enhance the flexibility and capability to utilize the Carrier VRF product offerings in a wider array of building applications. The utilization of a non-modular outdoor system up to 28 tons has allowed Carrier to greatly reduce the footprint of the heat recovery outdoor units and introduce the smallest 20-ton heat recovery system footprint in the industry.
“We’ve invested in improving our system offering to create what we believe is the most comprehensive portfolio of heating and cooling solutions in the industry,” Emmerich said. “This investment has yielded a breadth and depth of options in both two- and three-pipe systems that are flexible enough to meet the demands of nearly any building imaginable.”
VRF heating and cooling solutions can serve a diverse array of commercial applications including schools, hotels, office buildings as well as multi-family residential buildings. For more information on the Carrier VRF systems and the solutions they can provide visit our website at CarrierVRF.com
