Carrier Transicold Supports TITAN Containers’ Low-GWP Refrigerant Transition with OptimaLINE and NaturaLINE Refrigeration Units

Carrier Transicold has secured an order from TITAN Containers in the Netherlands for OptimaLINE™ units with ready-to-use low-global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant R-1234yf, alongside NaturaLINE® units that use carbon dioxide (CO₂) as refrigerant. The order reflects Carrier Transicold’s commitment to delivering sustainable refrigeration solutions that meet customer expectations, while supporting the industry’s transition toward lower‑GWP technologies, with TITAN Containers among the early adopters of OptimaLINE systems using a triple‑refrigerant-ready refrigeration system.
As the container shipping industry accelerates its transition toward lower-GWP refrigerants and compliance with EU F-Gas regulations, Carrier Transicold’s triple-refrigerant capable OptimaLINE units offer flexibility by supporting non-fluorinated refrigerant R-1234yf. The units will be delivered fully charged from Carrier Transicold’s Singapore manufacturing facility. This eliminates on-site charging, accelerates commissioning and lowers total installation effort, enabling customers to deploy faster with confidence, while meeting ISO and A2L refrigerant requirements.
Complementing the OptimaLINE units, NaturaLINE uses R-744, also known as CO₂, a natural refrigerant with a GWP of 1. These units add to TITAN Containers’ growing fleet of environmentally responsible refrigerated containers.

In addition, Carrier Transicold is supporting TITAN Containers’ transition through dedicated technical training delivered to its teams across multiple countries. The training covers the safe operation and maintenance of OptimaLINE units charged with R-1234yf, as well as NaturaLINE systems using CO₂. By strengthening in-house capabilities, Carrier Transicold is helping TITAN Containers ensure consistent performance, safety and regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle of its low-GWP refrigeration assets.
