Carrier Launches Advanced Air-Cooled Chiller Production in China

Carrier marked a major milestone at its Baoshan Manufacturing campus in Shanghai (CARS) with the first air-cooled chiller rolling off its Phoenix Project production line. The ceremony was attended by David Gitlin, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Carrier, and Xiaodong Deng, District Mayor of Baoshan District. Carrier is part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

With an investment exceeding RMB 100 million, the Phoenix Project air-cooled chiller production line, one of Carrier's core air-cooled chiller manufacturing lines globally, includes a dedicated end-of-line (EOL) test laboratory, integrates AI-driven, digital, and automated technologies, and delivers a capacity increase of nearly 33% compared with pre-upgrade levels.

"The successful roll-off of the first unit of Carrier's Phoenix Project marks a significant milestone in the transformation and upgrading of CARS factory, said Xiaodong Deng, District Mayor of Baoshan District. "Looking ahead, Carrier is expected to continue leveraging its technological and industrial strengths to advance smart manufacturing and low-carbon innovation, contributing to the development of a more competitive and resilient modern industrial system in Baoshan."

Aligned with China's 15th Five-Year Plan, the new production line supports the high-quality delivery of Carrier's flagship air-cooled chiller products, including the 30XQ, 30KA, 30KAV and 30RQ, and enables the introduction of next-generation, high-performance units for data center applications beginning in 2026.
