Pleasant experience with 1 near-miss issue
Billy was pleasant, diligent, was patient with my questions, arrived on time and seemed to take pride in his work. I enjoyed having him. Also, Scott the electrician showed up on time and seems to have done a good job. Both were very tidy and removed their debris when they left. Only issues were: 1. Billy was missing some miscellaneous materials which he should have ensured were in his truck before he left the shop (flux for soldering capped hot water pipes) so he took longer than he would have otherwise. Not an issue for me, but a waste of time nonetheless. 2. Billy's boss, Cory, told him that morning to isolate the old auxiliary heating unit as part of the job \- but Cory made a mistake. Billy was supposed to remove the unit completely from the ducting line as it would have gathered debris over time and added unnecessary additional air resistance load on the circulating fan motor which could lead to other issues down later. Cory had assured me a day or two prior that the unit would be removed as part of the job since we were replacing it with a new electric aux heat unit. If I hadn't asked and then challenged Billy on the isolate\-v\-remove question, Billy may have only isolated it and left it in place and I would have assumed it was removed and never checked for a dirty filter. This would have caused issues for me and Cory down the road if the error was realized too late. I understand that Atmosphere is moving to a mobile iPad\-based technician work order and reporting system which should reduce the chance of human error from verbal instructions \- assuming the team adopts it and uses it correctly. I'd recommend Atmosphere \- but ask them if the tech has an iPad yet or a written work order first! :o)
