Carrier Commercial Refrigeration Highlights Small Format Offerings at “Up-and-Running” Convenience Store at EuroShop 2020

Stand 2A/2B, Hall 16, EuroShop, Düsseldorf, Germany, Feb. 16-20, 2020

Carrier Commercial Refrigeration brings to life an “up-and-running” convenience store at EuroShop 2020, showcasing sustainable refrigeration technology and how it can enhance merchandising, the customer experience and energy savings. Carrier Commercial Refrigeration is a part of Carrier, a leading global provider of innovative heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, fire, security and building automation technologies.

Carrier’s stand includes a 150 m2 concept called “The Market,” an optimized, functioning convenience store featuring innovative product displays with a holistic, sustainable approach. The space will feature customized cabinets designed to streamline the store’s cool, organic look and an in-shop eating area for hungry visitors.

“The benefits of our equipment are widespread, focusing on what works for the convenience store format. We’ve differentiated the city-shop’s design to make a strong impression in an urban environment and our cabinets offer hyper modularity to maximize product assortment within a reduced shop floor footprint,” said Adrian Forastier, food retail general manager, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration. “Ultimately, Carrier’s product range offers the right balance for retailers by creating a special shopping atmosphere for consumers in urban areas while keeping agility, speed and efficiency in their daily operations.”

The Market will be powered by Carrier’s QuietCO2OL integral unit, which quietly delivers continuous refrigeration to shop cabinets. For the first time, the unit will also power two HVAC cassettes, delivering heating and air conditioning to the store, showcasing Carrier’s solutions for small spaces. These high-energy efficiency systems are available in all configurations for all store formats. Carrier’s condensing unit works with carbon dioxide (CO2), upholding the company’s commitment to sustainability.

Self-service and serve-over counters at the entrance will offer an in-shop eating or gourmet area. Setups include a self-service salad bar, Danaos® counters for hot meals, a pastry tower and a Premor® island with ice cream. Different daily setups will showcase layout possibilities.

Carrier will also spotlight how transparency bolsters impulse sales with its fully transparent plug-in Areor® islands, as well as the transparent ServiGo island for quick buys, like pre-packaged foods.

The store will contain an array of merchandising possibilities supported by high and narrow cabinets, adapted to small shop spaces. Mendos®, the remote multi-deck unit, will showcase large, ultra-functional dairy product displays, while the Optimer® plug-in will feature a dedicated food corner. A narrow Methos® unit will demonstrate its high footprint productivity, ideal for meat, fruit and vegetables in small stores.

In the freezer zone, the Velando® compact space plug-in vertical freezer, designed for frozen convenience food (plug-in or remote), will be lined up next to the Mendos® and Optimer® chillers, showcasing how the dimensions, uniform design and cladding creates a unified look while contributing to the homogeneity of the small store. Pizzas will be displayed in Carrier’s Visor island, a versatile, vertical freezer with outstanding product visibility.
