Carrier Transicold’s OptimaLINE Container Refrigeration Unit Surpasses 20,000 Units Sold Globally

Carrier Transicold has announced that global sales of its OptimaLINE™ container refrigeration units have surpassed 20,000 units. The rapid adoption of the refrigeration system since its commercial launch in September 2024 demonstrates growing demand across the maritime industry for advanced, energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable cold chain solutions. Carrier Transicold is part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

Engineered to deliver superior efficiency and emissions performance, the OptimaLINE unit features an advanced variable-speed scroll compressor, permanent magnet motor and intelligent refrigeration controls. This results in reduced annual energy consumption by up to 15%, while lowering carbon emissions by up to 40%1 compared to previous units.

“OptimaLINE was designed to meet the evolving needs of the global cold chain — maximizing performance while minimizing environmental impact — and this milestone affirms our customers’ confidence in both our technology and our vision,” said Vineet Kashyap, Vice President & General Manager, Global Container Refrigeration, Carrier Transicold. We remain confident that adoption will continue to accelerate, reinforcing our commitment to delivering intelligent, customer-centric solutions across the cold chain. We thank our customers for their continued trust and partnership.

OptimaLINE units have proven their reliability in real-world global operations and have undergone rigorous sea trials under a variety of operating conditions. They have successfully transported a wide range of perishable cargoes across typical ocean trade routes, operating at temperatures from -25°C (-13°F) to 6°C (42.8°F). Many of these trips spanned two to three weeks, demonstrating consistent and efficient performance in transit.

OptimaLINE units are compatible with Carrier’s Lynx™ Fleet telematics platform, which offers customers real-time performance insights, GPS location tracking, remote monitoring and predictive maintenance to support smarter fleet management and improved cargo protection.

This milestone supports Carrier’s goal to help its customers avoid more than 1 gigaton of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
