Replaced EZ-Flex filter for an Infinity Air Purifier GAPAA
I wanted to replace the basic EZ\-Flex paper filter with something more robust and one that purifies the air similar to the Honeywell Electrostatic whole house cabinet filter model F300E that I should have kept when my HVAC system was upgraded. Both use ionization of air particles that pass thru the electrostatic filter in the cabinet. Then, in the case of the Carrier GAPAA Purifier, air is passed thru a Merv 15 paper filter. At the same time I also had Gochnauer install a return Plenum to improve air flow through my heating and cooling system. Having all the air flow go directly from the intake ductwork right into the EZ\-Flex filter was inefficient and impacted the systems overall static pressure. The work was performed by 3 Gochnauer technicians who clearly knew what they were doing. Their work was exemplary and was done expeditiously without sacrificing quality. Having read the installation manual ahead of time, I judged their knowledge of the equipment to be excellent and when they were done, all debris was removed and the area cleaned. They reviewed how to replace the filters and clean the ionization ports with me to reaffirm what I already had learned from reading the User Installation and maintenance manual and procedures. I am very pleased with the installation. Time will tell how effective the Carrier GAPAA whole house unit is. Filter life is documented at 8\-12 months; with my EZ\-Flex, I was lucky to get 2 months use with the MERV 13 filter.

Purchased a middle of the line Carrier a/c. from Gochnauer Mechanical, Inc. They raised the air conditioner with a higher pad on the side of the house. Pretty important, since we get hurricanes. They put a large pan upstairs in the attic with the furnace and a/c coils instead of the original that, was less than half the size. They came back the next day and retested the system to make sure it was working 100% correctly. Plus the tech went over how to use the thermostat (with great patience) that I now have connected to wifi, so I can change the settings away from home. I dropped two other companies that I had a yearly contract with as they were constantly trying to replace things that still had time left. I changed to Gochnauer three years ago. When my air conditioner wasn't working correctly in the summer with guests in my home, Gochnauer was out the same day. Put in 3 pounds of freon and it worked the rest of the summer. Then I requested my fall check up a little early and since I was low on freon I decided to bite the bullet and get a new a/c and furnance.

At that time the technician told us that we had a 14 year old system that would probably not make it through the summer. I recently replaced two HVAC systems on my home on Hilton Head Island, SC. The old units were manufactured in 2000. We installed a 3 Ton Carrier split system in the downstairs and a 2 Ton Carrier split system upstairs with all new duct work upstairs. Gochnauer Mechanical sent three crews to my home and all work was completed in one day. Additionally, Gochnauer sent out a quality control service tech a few days later to completely check the systems for proper installation and functioning. To insure safe and proper functioning, the system install teams placed two condensate overflow safety shut off switches on each unit when the code requires only one. The inline filter driers were installed on the interior to prevent salt air corrosion. These are little things giving my new installs added protection, and showing the concern that Gochnauer has for their customers to insure there are no future problems.
