A lot of companies send a salesman to your home to offer you a very inflated estimate to put in a system. They offer very little knowledgeable discussion with the inflated pricing. I had to do a lot of searching to find Pierce Total Comfort but it was a great find. Our furnace broke during the last semi\-cold snap of spring (when you still need a little heat) and he was very responsive in visiting us and proposing solutions. He was out the very next day, I had an estimate in hand several hours later \& a new HVAC system in place within 48 hours. In the interim, he had my old furnace working well enough that I wouldn't cold while the new one was being installed. It's about the little details as well though...laying down drop clothes, removing old system, cleaning up...Oh, I should mention that even though they cleaned up they still mopped my basement floor!
