Several high-efficiency Carrier® residential products will be on display when The New American Home (TNAH) 2014, the official showcase house of the International Builders’ Show (IBS), opens this week in Henderson, Nev. Carrier, the world’s leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

TNAH is built annually in conjunction with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show, which takes place Feb. 4-6 in Las Vegas. The show is designed to showcase innovative construction technologies and the latest building products.

TNAH 2014 features complete Carrier home comfort systems, including the Infinity® 98 gas furnace with Greenspeed™ intelligence, available with up to 98.5 percent Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE), and the Infinity 20 adaptable-speed heat pump with Greenspeed intelligence, available with a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) up to 20.5 and a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) up to 13. The Infinity 98 gas furnace is up to 26 percent more efficient than today’s minimum efficiency standard of 78 percent AFUE, while the Infinity 20 heat pump is up to 69 percent more efficient than the minimum efficiency standard of 7.7 HSPF.

The systems will be controlled by the Infinity Touch Control, which combines with the Infinity 98 gas furnace and Infinity 20 heat pump to create the Infinity Hybrid Heat® system with Greenspeed intelligence, which is the most efficient ducted, air-source dual-fuel system available.

TNAH will also include the multi-split ductless Carrier Performance™ Series Heat Pump System, which can have as many as five air-handling units for five zones or rooms attached to one outdoor unit. Since each zone or room has its own control, the homeowner can save energy and money by conditioning only the occupied spaces. The multi-split ductless system offers remote-controlled comfort, zoning capability, high energy efficiency, installation flexibility and quiet operation.

“We’re proud to be a part of The New American Home 2014,” said David Meyers, vice president of sales and distribution, residential & light commercial systems, Carrier. “Being able to showcase Carrier products in an actual home allows our equipment to speak for itself while being on display for the some of the country’s leading builders.”

Now in its 31st year, TNAH is built by the NAHB and Builder magazine.
