To support the fight against the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai, Carrier China has donated 180 ductless mini split air conditioners to a makeshift quarantine hospital in Baoshan district, Shanghai. The equipment provides a healthy and comfortable indoor environment for patients and medical workers at the facility. Carrier China is a part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), the leading global provider of health, safe, sustainable and intelligent building and cold chain solutions.
Makeshift quarantine hospitals play a vital role in controlling the spread of COVID and supporting recovery of patients. When the Baoshan facility was in urgent need of HVAC solutions to cope with the rising temperature and increasing level of patients, Carrier China mobilized resources during the Shanghai lockdown to arrange delivery of the equipment to the hospital. The donated equipment was successfully delivered from Carrier’s factory in Foshan, Guangdong to Shanghai despite logistical restrictions during the city-wide lockdown period.
“Carrier China has a long-standing history and a significant footprint in Shanghai,” said Titus Yu, Vice President and General Manager, Carrier HVAC, North Asia.“We did not hesitate to contribute and support the city and our community during this difficult period.”
