I'm very disappointed that this next to the top of the line furnace is too loud even when on just the lower stage. I had it configured never to go to the higher stage because it is SUPER loud and the blower, just blows you away. I agreed to this furnace as it was recommended by the installer, but he should have recommended one that had a lighter blower and not such high BTU. I have a smaller home, so I only needed 36,000 BTU (low stage is 39,000). I chose the wrong installer and had another come along to get the Carrier on the low stage only. I only learned about BTU and my home from the second installer. Also the blower on this Carrier can't be lowered. I am warm though.

The furnace works well enough. It is very noisy. I am not sure I would recommend this furnace. I have a small place and the noise level of the blower is high enough to be quite annoying.

This Performance furnace replaced a 12 year old Carrier Infinity furnace that had a defective secondary heat exchanger, I hope I have better luck with this one. This furnace does not have the same features as my other furnace such as a sealed combustion chamber or the troubleshooting features but it is not an Infinity. This furnace is is quiet and seems to be well built, Its been running for over two weeks without any issues which I hope continues. Overall it is a good furnace for the price, if your looking for all the bells and whistles you need to move up to the infinity series.

1. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Warranty period is 5 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
2. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Lifetime heat exchanger parts limited warranty period is 20 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a lifetime heat exchanger parts limited warranty. See warranty certificate for details.
This furnace does not comply with SCAQMD Rule 1111 or SJVAPCD Rule 4905, which places a NOx emission limit of 14 ng/J. Therefore, this unit is not eligible to be installed in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) nor the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
