Great

So far so good I am seeing the cost savings in our gas bill already but do notice some rooms are cooler then others at times
Too loud
February 26, 2020
Far too loud for any location where the furnace is adjacent to the bedrooms. I never dreamed that a new furnace would be significantly louder than the old furnace. The old furnace never woke me, but the new one does. This is a big problem.
Carrier 96 at Castlewood
February 26, 2020
The one thing that makes me uncomfortable is the gas smell in the exterior which diffuses inside the house depending on the temperature and wind factor outside, ( exhaust pipe is by the kitchen window) like yesterday. Besides that everything seems OK. Feels comfortable. Loving it. Haven't got the gas bill yet though.

High efficiency 2 stage gas furnace.
Install bumpy, but is working fine now
February 26, 2020
Loud whistle sound all the time\-\-installer says there's nothing to be done about it. Initial install required a change of thermostat as the first one wasn't functioning when we used the oven. Seems okay now. First Carrier furnace.
Good heat, very loud 2nd stage blower noise.
February 26, 2020
First stage burner noise is very present but tolerable. The blower starts with a squeak but runs nice and quiet until the second stage cuts in. ON second stage the combination of the burner noise and the blower fan sound like a jet engine. on shut down it sounds like a turbine winding down and then when the blower fan stops there is a marked squeal like brakes with rusty rotors being applied. There is also a constant squeal from the blower motor and it is very noticeable at the cold air return in the basement . I am pleased with the general design and features but one of my main reasons for replacing the old furnace was noise. I was assured this would be a quite furnace despite the high air volume through put. Most of the noise comes through the cold air returns and there is one right near my bed. The noise does waken me at night , thus , not very comfortable. As I had Ac installed at the same time I expect loud cool summer nights.
