When I called about replacing my 35+ year old furnace Carrier sent a representative to my house to evaluate which furnace I'd S bes5 fir my needs. I explained to the representative that in the future I will upgrade my basement for rental purposes so I want a furnace that would be able to heat the main floor and the basement via separate thermostats as well as duct work. He sold and installed a furnace that he claimed could handle those needs when I decided to upgrade my basement. Last year I contacted the representative to follow up on upgrading the duct work and thermostat. It was then he tells me that the installed furnace isn't capable of heating my entire house as I originally detailed. Their representative misled me and now I am not able to use this furnace for my needs therefore upgrading and renting my basement is not a possibility without buying a larger furnace. I also find this Carrier furnace has not changed my heating costs in any way compared to the 35+ year old furnace that was installed when my house was originally built.

1. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Warranty period is 5 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
2. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Lifetime heat exchanger parts limited warranty period is 20 years if not registered within 90 days. Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a lifetime heat exchanger parts limited warranty. See warranty certificate for details.
This furnace does not comply with SCAQMD Rule 1111 or SJVAPCD Rule 4905, which places a NOx emission limit of 14 ng/J. Therefore, this unit is not eligible to be installed in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) nor the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
