The blower motor seized, causing the circuit board to fry. Both parts had to be replaced, costing almost half of what the whole furnace had originally cost us. The furnace is only 6 years old. The warranty for these parts is only 5 years: the parts malfunctioned at only 1 year past the warranty. We had followed all recommendations: annual maintenance and replacing the filters on schedule. This should not have happened.

Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.
2. To the original owner on eligible equipment for eligible residential applications. Lifetime heat exchanger parts limited warranty period is 20 years if not registered within 90 days. This furnace does not comply with SCAQMD Rule 1111 or SJVAPCD Rule 4905, which places a NOx emission limit of 14 ng/J. Therefore, this unit is not eligible to be installed in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) nor the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
