This new system is beyond what we expected. I actually have the thermostat set higher for the air conditioning and it works less. Last year our heating bill was less because we had to keep it cooler because the system was so efficient.

The furnace works great, the thermostat and app could be better. However, once a year it seems we get some kind of error on the furnace and have to have someone come out to fix it. No one is ever sure and we just had to replace the mother board after only 4 years. Hopefully this keeps us from having our yearly error and not having heat.

Faulty Inducer Motor?

Had to replace inducer motor after just six years. New inducer motor is now causing high pitched whistling noise when in heat (only) mode. Noice not present in fan or AC mode. I'm not getting any help to resolve the issue. One factor in deciding to purchase Carrier was because it was made in the US. I'm regretting my decision.

Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.

This furnace does not comply with SCAQMD Rule 1111 or SJVAPCD Rule 4905, which places a NOx emission limit of 14 ng/J. Therefore, this unit is not eligible to be installed in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) nor the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
