Wasn’t what I expected for $23K - old carrier system was more effecient

Our system has not performed well since installation- we chose a reputable Carrier certified installer but they didn’t follow the installation manual which caused a gas leak in our home. They don’t know how to trouble shoot the device and the smart system doesn’t seem to communicate well with the system. We wanted the same (or better) performance with this new system - which replaced our 20 year old Carrier system (which was an amazing workhorse). We upgraded to the highest end product line according to our installer and have only had issues, higher bills, and exposure to carbon monoxide. This has been a very challenging process and warranty services has been difficult to work with (hours on hold) with little resolution. I wish carrier made the products it used to carry. We never had issues with our old system and this one has been nothing but headaches and high bills.
Too many problems

Have had Carrier products in my homes for years. But no more. This unit is quirky and regularly has warning codes/diagnostic codes that pop up for no reason. But the worst thing is that it is noisy, with harmonic vibrations that come and go for no reason. Repeated visits from technicians confirm this, but despite enlarging the return and ducting, no one seems to be able to figure out why it makes so much noise when running on certain speeds.
Gas Furnace is very, very nice....

You don't expect to have a lot of problems with a furnace...and this one is no exception. It does a great job, and has been trouble-free.

Jurisdictions where warranty benefits cannot be conditioned on registration will automatically receive a 10-year parts limited warranty, which can be changed to the 5-year parts, plus a 3-year labor option on eligible equipment within the first 90 days after installation. The 5-year parts, plus 3-year labor warranty option is available only if the installing dealer/contractor has elected to participate in the Consumer Choice warranty program and has accepted the Consumer Choice dealer terms and conditions.

This furnace does not comply with SCAQMD Rule 1111 or SJVAPCD Rule 4905, which places a NOx emission limit of 14 ng/J. Therefore, this unit is not eligible to be installed in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) nor the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD).
