I am a first time home buyer and I had no idea what I was doing or even getting myself into with hiring a contractor to replace my ancient furnace but Nerthlings did a fabulous job! They were thorough and answered all of my questions when I had any concerns. They walked me through the whole process and it relieves a ton of stress on my part. I highly recommend using this company for heating and cooling needs.

My 25 year old furnace would not start on a day with freezing temperatures. A technician came out and promptly fixed it and per his recommendation I scheduled an appointment the following week for a much needed new furnace.

We had to have our air conditioner replaced and since Nerthlings had installed our new furnace a few years ago, it was a simple choice to have them install the new AC. The technician that installed our furnace did a fantastic job. However, the AC installation was not as good. The first night I came home there was water puddling on top of our furnace from the AC refrigerant line that the installer didn't put the foam insulation on. Also, there was cold air blowing out of the front of the coil cabinet because the installer didn't plug the hole that the refrigerant line went into. I called about these problems and a service person was sent out the very next day and fixed these problems. We also noticed that the installer left a very large bend in the refrigerant line where it goes from the ceiling to the wall making it impossible to hide the lines in a suspended ceiling or a finished wall when we finish off the lower level. Our old AC lines had a nice small bend in this area that would have worked fine. I called about this problem and they said they would send a service person out to fix the problem but it has been 4 weeks now and no one has been out yet. I've looked at several other AC systems in friends and relatives homes and none of them have such a large bend that protrudes down so low. The new refrigerant lines are also very loud compared to my old system. They make a vibration or buzzing sound in the lower level that doesn't seem normal. The installer has them screwed directly to the ceiling joists and to the duct work which their installation manual says they were not supposed to do. This may be the problem or maybe the new system is just a lot noisier than my old. The AC unit itself cools our house wonderfully and we are very pleased with that

Dave Nerthling came to appraise the installation needs and gave me a range of solutions to select from.

House filled with smoke, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectore sounded, I had to tell helper that the kitchen stove exhause would clear the smoke, tech treated it as a joke; plywood from top of old equipment was tossed on top of a flower bed, a part of the door threshold is laying on the top step, the space in the old furnace where I assume the coil was is now empt y, which makes me wonder if a new coil was installed with the new furnace (I had requested to keep the old furnace and so had a chance to look at it). The top of the new furnaceis about 1.5 " further from the wall at the top than at the bottom, which makes me wonder if the floor should have had some corrective work before the installation.

THE TECHNICIANS WERE EXPERIENCED AND DILIGENT AND LEFT THE WORK AREA NEAT AND CLEAN. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH WORKMANSHIP.

Remove outdated luxaire heating unit \& water cooled AC unit \& install new carrier AC \& furnace. The salesman at Nwerhlings, John, was both thorough \& professional \& followed through completely with the sale \& installation process. Both installers were courteous, thorough \& knowledgeable in the application process and did a very satisfactory removal \& install of both the new furnace and AC unit. The complete process was completed in 2 days and as it was quite cold out the day they started, they made sure the new furnace was in operation by the end of the 2nd day. I have owned many properties throughout the city of Erie \& restored all of them \& am quite knowledgeable in all aspects of the construction process. I was especially impressed with the quality workmanship that Dave demonstrated throughout the process. His installation was excellent \& I am very satisfied with the outcome.
