A systeam (and team) you can count on
Carrier Furnace gets FOUR stars. Jet Heating gets FIVE stars. Our house was built in 1969 and had many suspect 'modifications' done over the years. Owning an older home, you run into that. Jet Heating had installed a Carrier air conditioner some time back and now our furnace finally gave up the ghost. The crew of Jesse and Scott (and salesman Scott) from Jet were the best I have ever encountered. Scott #1 (salesman) came to our house at a time convenient for us and reviewed what kind of system we had and what kind would solve our problems. We had an 80% unit and he gave us the option of another unit of the same, or a two\-stage unit that was over 90% efficient. We had significant trouble heating and cooling the bedrooms at the opposite end of the house, so he recommended the two stage. The two\-stage furnace is amazing. PROBLEM SOLVED! The bedrooms are now warm and inviting. We also had a Honeywell Wi\-Fi thermostat for our old unit and decided on a new Ecobee3 with sensors in the back bedrooms. This has made all the difference. I'm sure this Summer the bedrooms will also be very cool (but we haven't experienced the need for AC yet, so can't report on that). The removal and installation by Jesse and Scott #2 was extremely difficult as with a two\-stage you have to have a place for the condensation to drain and an outlet for the vapors. Jesse gave us lots of options on where and how we could do that. Our old unit vapor outlet was right next to it in the fireplace, but the new unit could not be run through the chimney. Also, we needed to pipe a new drain for the condensation and they made it unnoticeable and efficient AND less likely to freeze up in cold weather. They had to punch a hole in our foundation to put a small drain spout outside, but the majority of the pipe is inside, so less likely to freeze. All in all Jesse and Scott went above and beyond (Jesse even repaired some of the shoddy previous work at no extra cost, because it was 'the right thing to do'). They made our furnace workable in a VERY tight space in an old garage and our house is now livable. The reason for the four stars for the new unit is now we have to vent outside rather than in a chimney, we have a pump for the condensation to run through a pipe to our new outer drain \-\- so we have that to worry about. But it is worth having our house livable and comfortable (and programmable via the Ecobee system). Again, excellent service by both Scotts and especially Jesse. Would highly, highly recommend them and this product.
